Basic Info:
What is Glimmer Mist? Glimmer Mist is a quick, easy to use spray that delivers just a touch of glimmer in a fine mist to make all of your projects shine. It is water-based, archival safe, acid-free, and non-toxic.
What can I use Glimmer Mist on? You can use Glimmer Mist on a variety of things including
Some things to keep in mind: Glimmer Mist is water-based. If used in a humid area it will run. You should always protect your area from the excess spray.
There are several ways you can apply Glimmer Mist:
How to Apply Glimmer Mist:
For a light, even look: hold the Glimmer Mist away from the project and spray. Do so as if you were applying hairspray. Ex:

For a thicker drop look: Hold the Glimmer Mist closer to your project when spraying, not moving around too much or too quickly. Ex:

For a heavy, pooling effect allowing for intense color: spray very close to project without moving around. Ex:
Ok so now let’s see some uses of the Glimmer Mist. Before I begin I have a set up. I take a box (from a previous ACOT order) and tape up the sides so that I place the object in the box and keep some of the flying spray away. Here is my box:
Ok now the first project is very simple - making a background paper.

The paper towels will soak up spray and can easily be replaced between projects.
Now when you are working with paper it may curl on the edges. You have several options to fix this. You can use a heat tool on both sides to help flatten or you can iron it. You can also place it under something heavy for a few minutes after it is dry.
Keep in mind that although one color looks terrific, you can use more than one for a great looking paper. Ex:
Get another piece of paper and your stencil.

Once you have it all set, begin your spraying holding it at the correct distance for the look you want.

Once you have finished, carefully remove your template being careful not to get drops on the paper from the template and wash the template. Your project should turn out something like this.

Anyone taken any pics to show us yet??? I can't wait to see. I know these things are simple but they will give you a basis to start with.
Ok now lets make a tag and show how it looks when you ink distress/alcohol inking over the Glimmer Mist. You end up getting a terrific look and it is very simple. Spray your tag like you would anything else and let it dry. Once it is dry, apply the ink in the areas you want using the ink pad, sponge or what you normally use to apply this. Here is my example:

This is not anything hard and its very quick. Depending on the ink colors you have you will get different and wondering affects. Try using a gold or silver ink on one. Try using it only on the very edge or try placing it all over the tag. You can do many different things.
Once your tag is ready you are able to embellish it any way you normally would but you have a great look.
Well by now you should have several projects done or at least started but we have just a few more to go. Our next use is as an ink for stamps. Now I have found that the foam stamps work best for this. But I have only tried it a few times. What you will do first is on a wax piece of paper you will spray your glimmer mist color(s) like so.

This will serve as your ink pad. From here on you will use your stamps just as you would any other time. Stamping them into the ink on the wax paper and then onto the paper surface. I have not yet tried this on a glossy surface. Once you have it all stamped out, you will have a glimmer stamped image without use of glitter.

Just remember to immediately clean off your stamps like you always would.
This is what I got trying to use it on a regular rubber stamp. It doesn’t seem to work as well as you are just working in narrow lines. As you can see you don’t get the line distinction that you really want. I will be playing more with the stamping aspect of Glimmer Mist to see if I can find good tricks on this.

Now I have also used Glimmer Mist on naked chipboard flowers and on Bazzill paper flowers. I have done this many times and I am always happy with the look

With the chipboard you do want to remember that you have edges that might be seen, so you want to make sure that you check the sides for their color and shimmer.
Like with all things, the more you use it, the better you will become with it and the more uses you will come up with. I will happily answer any questions you have the best I can and I hope that you enjoyed the class. Thank you!
