Meet Amy Teets

Digi Designer, Dream Street Paper designer, wife and mom extraodinaire.

Our featured guest for the month of November 2008 is Amy Teets.  She has been a member of ACOT for a very long time and is a digital designer here as well.  You can check out her awesome line of digital products here.  She also designs of a line of paper for Dream Street.  How cool is that?  She is a very talented girl and you can check her gallery out here.

Tell us about yourself and your family.

I grew up in a small town in Western Nebraska.  Attended a small school and played volleyball at one of the local junior colleges.  I earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.  I also married my high school sweetheart that went into the Marine Corps after graduating from high school.  We've lived in Nebraska, California, North and South Carolina, Arkansas and now Missouri.  We have two boys and two dogs.

How long have you been scrapbooking and what got you started?

I started scrapbooking when my aunt and grandma came out to see me in 2001 after I had my  oldest.  She was a CM consultant and from there I ran with it!

What inspires you?

Color definitely inspires me all the way around from photos to papers and embellishments.  Alto of times Ill change my photos to a neutral tone to coordinate papers that I find.

What is it like designing a line of paper for a major manufacturer? How do your family and friends feel about your scrapbooking?

I love designing for Dream Street, it's such a creative release that I think we all can benefit from.  Plus there's a lot of perks that come from working for them.

How did you find A Cherry on Top?

I found ACOT from their sister site Stickers Galore.

How long have you been a part of the ACOT community? How did you pick your screen name?

I think I've been at ACOT forever!  My screen name is just my name,  kinda boring ;)

Do you have a favorite manufacturer/product line? What scrapbooking item can’t you live without?

Besides Dream Street, I love Sassafrass Lass. But really, if it has great color and great patterns I'll use it!  I couldn't live without pop dots!

What is a favorite technique that you like to use?

I guess one of my favorite things to do is to cut things out of paper.  I sometimes buy two sheets just so I can cut the heck out of one and use them on my layouts with pop dots.  I love  dimension.

When and where do you create your layouts?

I usually create my layouts during the day while my oldest is at school.  I do have a cluttered mismatched scraproom, but it's all mine :D

How would you define your style?

I'm not sure how to define my style?  Sometimes I'm linear and clean others I'm dimensional and doing 8x10 layouts.

What is a favorite layout of yours and why?

My recent favorite is this one of my little man.

What is your ultimate goal in scrapbooking?

My ultimate goal in scrapbooking.....hmmm....I think I would love to be on a kit club design team.  Getting  new product every month, what could be better!!

Any other hobbies?

Other hobbies.  Let's see.  I really like painting right now.  Nothing beats going to Michaels, picking out paints and canvas and doing your own prints for your home :D  Etsy is another hobby of mine if that counts!

Your avatar photo makes you look tall. How tall are you IRL?I swear your photo reminds me of Angie Harmon (who I would die to look like, lol). Do you resemble her IRL?

I'm actually 5'9 so yeah, I guess I'm tall!  Not sure about the Angie Harmon resemblance but I do get Sandra Bullock a lot.

Amy also created this awesome sketch for the November sketch challenge:

She created this LO with the sketch:

Can't wait to see what you all do with the sketch challenge this month.  Make sure to check it out in the Novemeber Creative Team Challenges Article when it is published.

Thanks so much, Amy!!!
