Whew...that's alot of cutting! I'll let you know where each piece goes as we assemble everything!

So, let's get started with all of the fun...adding bling to some cards and layouts! You can use a little, you can use alot, but no matter how you look at it, gems, glitter, shimmer and shine ALL add a polished look to a project! I'll show you just a few fun ways to add some sparkle with some fairly inexpensive shiny products!

Card A - Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

I'm not sure why this card looks purple in my article, but in real life, it's pink with the KI papers adding some purple! I inked the edges of all of these patterned papers for this card.

1. Fold 12 x 4 Lipstick Cardstock in half width wise.

2. Place 5-3/4 x 3-3/4 Holly Jolly dot on cardstock.

3. Place 6 x 1 strip of Giftwrap stripe over that.

4. Cut one of the Bazzill Edges to 6" and use that on top of the stripe.

5. Stamp dot & dash frame on white cardstock with Glue pad. Add glitter, allow to dry and tap off excess.

6. Cut around stamp, and add KI Memories Festive diecut sticker. I LOVE these stickers because they already have the dimension on them! Add a few smaller stickers too, if you like.

7. Write sentiment on your glittered square and place on your card with pop dots.

8. I think the spots on this paper, are just calling out to have bling added to them. I've used the large pink rhinestones and placed them randomly, but you could use the pearls to make a pattern just inside the edge of the circle or smaller rhinestones to add some interest.

Card B - Merry Christmas

1.  Fold 4 x 12 Lipstick Cardstock in half.

2. Center 3-3/4 x 5-3/4 Baubles Paper on background.

3. Center 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 Merry Christmas paper over that.

4. Cut double sided scalloped Bazzill Edge to 6", and place on card. Add hot pink rhinestones.

5. Stamp Frame on Pink cardstock. Add KI Memories Festive diecuts to the frame.

6. Place frame on card with pop dots.

7. Add stickles to stamped frame first, then to scalloped edges. I chose the magenta stickles for this, but silver or clear would look awesome too!

Card C - Jolly Tree

1. Fold 4-3/4 x 12 Simon cardstock in half.

2. Add 1-1/4 x 4-3/4 Lipstick cardstock to right hand side of background.

3. Add striped Merry Christmas 4-1/2 x 3/4 strip below the pink along the bottom of card.

4. Add 3 x 4-3/4 Gift Shimmer paper so that the edges are even with both the pink cardstock at the top, and the striped paper at the left edge. I have to be honest here...this was probably the hardest part of my class for me...I am so bad at straight lines! But I know YOU can do it!!!

5. Samp the tree with the little star on top on white cardstock. You'll notice that I used two different colors of ink for this...the green for the tree and the gold for the star. Cut around the edge of the stamped image.

6. Place tree on Holly Jolly paper with pop dots and then cut the paper to a nice rectangle around the tree...mine is 2-1/4 x 2-7/8, but it will depend on the finished size of your stamped image. Add the framed tree to the front of card over all three patterned papers.

7. Add a row of green bling along the bottom of the Holly Jolly paper. I let mine creep over the edge for a little added interest.

8. This card could be finished after that last step, but I wanted to go for a little more bling on it. I added the three pearls to the corner of the tree frame. I also added a few tiny strips of the green rhinestones onto the pattern of presents on the Gift shimmer paper...cute, huh?

9. As a last shimmery touch, I added the Diamond stickles to the stamp!

Card D - Shimmery Trees

1. Fold 5 x 12 Simon Cardstock in half.

2. Place 4-3/4 x 5-3/4 Snowfall paper on cardstock.

3. Center 4 x 4-3/4 Salt Cardstock over snowflake paper.

4. Center 3 x 4 Trimmings Shimmer paper over that.

5. Place Mark Richards olive rhinestone strips along edge of Trimmings paper to make a frame.

6. Add a tiny KaiserCraft pearl to each tree in the patterned paper.

7. Add KI Memories diecut snowflakes randomly around edge of card.

8. Add Diamond stickles to each snowflake on the blue paper if you want. I also added a line of Stickles all the way around the white Salt cardstock to frame it in. You can't really see it in the photo, but it adds alot in real life!

Card E - Patchwork Tree

1.  Fold 5 x 12 Salt Cardstock in half.

2.  Place 5 x 4 Secret Santa Shimmer over bottom of card.

3. Place 1-5/8 x 2 Trimmings over upper left corner of card.

4. Place 1-5/8 x 2 Holly Jolly over upper right corner of card.

5. Place 5 x 1 strip of Gift Wrap (Pink Merry Christmas) across the card, over all of the seams.

6. Stamp tree on Salt Cardstock with glitter pad. Add Glitter...on this one, I used two different colors of Green Glitter for a little more definition...as if you can really get definition with glitter. Let's face it...I was going a little glitter crazy by then and just wanted to play!

7.  Trim a rectangle out of the stamped cardstock, just a little larger than your stamped image.

8. Mat the stamped image on the Lipstick cardstock and trim close to the edge. This would look really fun with a deco edge too!

9. Add a large pink rhinestone to the left edge of the 1' strip on the card...if I were using product from my stash here, I would probably have added three smaller rhinestones, or a small strip of them, depending on what I had on hand.

10. Add magenta Stickles to the stamped star.

I like this card as is, but if I wanted to add even more bling, I would add three tiny rhinestones to that top left Christmas tree and at least a dot of Diamond stickles to the top of every other tree that shows in the  patterned paper. I could also add a rhinestone to each of the packages in the lower patterned paper, especially where it looks like there is a flower or a star.

Card F - Trees and Presents

1.  Fold 4-1/2 x 12 White Bazzill in half.

2.  Center 4-1/4 x 5-3/4 Baubles paper over the card.

3.  Trim a Bazzill ZigZag Edge to 4-1/2 and place about 1 inch above lower edge of card.

4. Add a piece of ribbon to top edge of the Bazzill Edge.

5. Place diecut trees and gift along top edge of ribbon.

6. Add rhinestones to each zigzag on Edge, and a few on the diecut stickers.

Baby's First Christmas Layout

The same techniques for blinging out a card can be used on your layouts. You can use a little or a lot, just look for fun places in the patterned paper or along edges. This layout went together pretty quickly!

1. Place 12 x 7 Secret Santa paper over bottom of Brilliant White Cardstock.

2. Place 8 x 10 Merry Christmas paper in upper right hand corner of the layout. I used about a 1" margin on the top and right side.

3. Place 12 x 1-3/4 strip of Simon Bazzill across layout to cover the seam between the Secret Santa paper and the Brilliant Bazzill.

4. Add large scalloped Bazzill Edge over that strip.

5. Mat photos on white cardstock and place on your layout...Whenever I have a busy pattern in my papers, I mat my photos on cardstock so that they will pop off the page and not get lost in the patterns. Here's a little helpful hint if you ever run out of white cardstock...use the backside of any ugly old single sided patterned paper you have lying around! You know...that "WHAT WAS I THINKING WHEN I BOUGHT THIS PAPER???" stuff...I'm not the only one with that lying around am I?

6. Add your title...I of course, chose some American Crafts Glittered Thickers in keeping with the Bling theme!

7. I made a journaling spot by stamping the frame image on a piece of the lipstick cardstock. I wrote my journaling inside the frame, trimmed around the frame and matted it on the Baubles shimmer paper. I pop dotted the journaling square up off the page just a bit. Then I added the Diamond stickles to the stamped frame.

8. To complete the blinging of this layout, I added some Pearl corners around the upper and lower right hand corners of the Merry Christmas paper, added a pink rhinestone at the center of each scallop, added a row of Magenta Stickles between each of the rhinestones, and added a few of those cute diecut gifts to the white background. I also gave my Grandma in the photo a Santa hat for some fun!

When I completed these cards and layout, I still had a little of that fun purple spotted KI paper left, so I decided to make a non Christmas layout with it...I stamped some glue circles on another sheet of white Bazzill and added some purple glitter to continue the feel of the circles of the paper.

I inked the scalloped Bazzill Edge with a lime green ink pad so that it would match my lettering, and then added some more of those fun hot pink rhinestones. I also added a few rhinestones to my title letters! Hope you've had fun taking this class, and remember ONLY YOU can decide how much bling is too much bling for YOUR layouts!!!
