envelopes size 4.5 x 10.375 in {I bought the Kraft Mailing Envelopes, 10 in a package for about $1.99}
glue/adhesive.pop-dots
scissors
hole punch-silent setter-crop a dile {something to make holes in your album}
rings or something to hold your album together...{I bought mine at the LSS for about 0.49 cents each}
pictures {optional}
Binder Clips {optional}
Buttons {optional}
other complimentary brads {optional}
flowers {optional}
ditress ink-any complimentary color {optional}
tiny alphas {optional}
1. Mark your holes on your envelopes...I did 3 rings and spaced the holes roughly at
1st hole:1 1/2 inches
2nd hole: 5 inches
3rd hole: 8 1/2 inches
2. Then I inked the edges of all of my envelopes {I used a total of 5 envelopes, but you can use as many as you like :)}
3. Punch your ring holes with either a crop-a-dile/silent setter/hole punch...just make sure your holes are big enough for your rings to go through
4. I cut the tops off a couple of the envelopes and then sealed the rest of the envelope shut....see picture, makes much more sense :)
5. I also cut 2 pieces of ribbon to put around my album to close it shut {this is totally optional!}
6. On the front of my 1st envelope I cut a piece of PP 6 1/2 in x 4 1/4 in-then cut a piece of the solid cardstock4 1/2 in x 4 in...I then used my wavy cutter to cut one edge of my cardstock
**BEFORE decorating the back side make sure to flip your envelope over and punch out the holes again where your paper overlaps form the backside**
back side of 1st envelope: I used my wavy cutter to cut a border...decorated and then added a photo mat adhered with a binder clip
7. decorate the paper the way you like before adhering to your envelope
2nd envelope: front side...added some ribbon, buttons and stickers~
8. I used my wavy cutter to cut some of the paper and use as part of a border on the envelope page
9. I also used eyelets on the envelope page where I cut the top of the envelope....this way I could add a ribbon to close the little flap shut~
2nd envelope: back...I added the eylets then a white ribbon to hold the flap together...then I decorated with different embellisments!
10. then decorate as you like!!!! I added photo mats for my DH to place pics of my kids on XMAS morning and adhered them with binder clips....
3rd envelope: front...I decorated and added a little bit of mini snowflake felt as a border, added some brads and mini letters!
3rd envelope: back....I added some flowers, directions to DH on the flap, and glitter alpha stickers!
4th envelope: front....I found some old sticker buttons laying around and they matched perfectly and decided to use my stapler to adhere items to this envelope {MAKE SURE TO NOT STAPLE YOUR ENVELOPE SHUT!}
4th envelope: back....I did the same with the eyelets on this envelope and used ribbon to close it shut...I also cut out the Santa from the PP I was using and pop dotted him to give him some depth!
5th envelope: front....these are for the extras that the rest of my family might like to add....I dodled and added some Prima flowers I had laying around!
5th envelope: back....I took the Seasons Greetings sticker and added it to cardstock and then cut out to give it some more depth!
this is my completed album after I finished decorating the front page....and then I put the rings on and added ribbon to my rings...
as you can see..it doesn't matter if any of your paper or embellishments overlap the envelopes...it actually gives it some character! so come on gals..let's see what you got!
...also remember flowers aren't just for girly pages ;)
other possible envelope album ideas:
1. Disney Vacation...the kids can put a calendar to count down, they can put road trip souveniors in it, a wishlist of rides they want to not miss out on~
2. Birthday Album...you could make one up and then add pictures from a birthday party and any small birthday souveniors or cards~
3. Vacation Album...put pictures, postcards, receipts, ticket stubs and souveniors from your vacation in one of this cute little albums~
