I love the Holidays, there's such a magical feeling in the air. Everywhere you look things sparkle and shine. Lights blink, tinsel shines and the town glows. The Tinsel Town collection from Pink Paislee has captured that magical feeling of the Holidays. As soon as I received the collection I was immediately inspired to make a Holiday collection of decorations and gift containers. What I especially love about the collection is the vintage and modern look of this collection. The swirls, lettering and prints give the creations a vintage look and feel, while the colors are very modern and hip.
The first item I made was a Holiday Door Hanger. Here I used an acrylic door hanger. I covered the hanger with the 5th Avenue paper. Then I cut some shapes from the Paislee Postcard collection. The Postcard Collection has great flourish designs that really give you a vintage feeling. I cut a couple trees from White Christmas and attached them with pop dots to add dimension. I finished off with the "Merry Christmas" from the Tinsel Town Rub-ons and some ribbon accents from the Tinsel Town Ribbon Collection. Now you have a great accent to greet your visitors at the door.
I love candles and when I found this frosted green candle I knew it would be perfect to alter for a nice Holiday gift. I took a strip of 34th Street paper and wrapped around the candle. Then I added ribbon from the Tinsel Town Ribbon Collection along the top and bottom edge of the paper. I finished with some flowers and bling. The rhinestones go around the candle on the top piece of ribbon. Now you have a beautiful gift that was made in less than 30 minutes.
Gift bags are wonderful for Holiday presents and they become part of the present when they're handmade. For this gift bag I used the White Christmas paper as the base. Then I used the "to / from" postcard from Paislee Postcard paper. Talk about a perfect postcard for the bag. I matted the postcard and centered it on the gift bag. Of course the gift is from Santa so I added the "Santa Claus" rub-on from the Tinsel Town Rub-ons. Some bling, a few flowers and a bow made with ribbon from the Tinsel Town Ribbon Collection completes the bag so it is ready to hold that special gift.
Gift cards are popular gifts for the Holidays and I'm always on the lookout for cute containers to hold them. This year I decided to make my own by altering a mint tin. I used a strip of 34th Street paper around the bottom of the tin. I also traced around the tin and cut out a piece of the 34th Street paper to cover the base of the tin. For the top I traced the tin on the pink snowflake postcard from the Paislee Postcard paper. I attached a piece of ribbon from the Tinsel Town Ribbon Collection around the lid of the tin. To make the tag, I used a rub-on from the Tinsel Town Rub-ons on a metal ring tag. To finish the box, I added flowers and some bling. Inside the tin I attached a piece of paper to the lid and the base of the tin so when the tin is opened the gift card is lifted up and displayed.
So often during the Holidays we get lost in all the hustle and bustle and we get overwhelmed with the commercialization. To keep me focused I made a wish tin. Inside it holds Holiday wishes that aren't material things. For example, "slow down and enjoy a afternoon/evening with friends." I look at the wishes to remind myself that I need to enjoy the season and celebrate my blessings, family and fiends. For this altered tin I used a strip of 5th Avenue paper for the base. I attached a piece of ribbon from the Tinsel Town Ribbon Collection around the lid of the tin. For the top of the tin I used a circle design from Paislee Postcard paper. I used "My Holiday Wish" and a few swirls from the Tinsel Town Rub-ons. The finishing touch was some flowers and bling. Remember to slow down and enjoy the Holidays.
My wish for you is a Holiday Season full of Love, Joy and Happiness.
Of course this collection is also perfect for creating layouts to document your Holidays.

Happy Holidays to You and Your Family!!! May your Holiday Season be Jolly, Bright and Tinsel Town Pink!
