I choose to use this sketch by Becky Fletch that is directly from the Basic Grey website newsletter that I get each month. I just love the flow of it and how simple or advanced of a layout could be done by following it.
The supplies:
2 sheets solid Basic Grey cardstock
2 sheets Basic Grey patterned paper
one package Bazzill just the chips Hearts
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Velvet Red
Basic Grey Alpha Chips
Basic Grey cardstock alpha stickers
The first step was to decide which background I wanted. I chose to use the Blushing Pink and layer the Peanut Butter on top. I cut 1 inch off of the Peanut Butter paper, both horizontally and vertically. Then I decided it needed a little more umph..so I used my edge punch to add design to the edge of the paper. You could also use deco scissors to do this, or even do a freehand wave.
Next, I cut a 3 1/2 inch by 12 inch piece of my first pattern paper (Praline) and placed it approximately 5 1/2 inches from the left edge of my base paper.
Then I took one of the 12 inch long, 1 inch piece of brown paper I had cut from my Peanut Butter paper and again used my edge punch. I then placed it white side up along the edge of my patterned paper...like so.
Next I cut a piece from my second patterned paper (Mousse) that is 8 inches x 8 inches and tore the right side of it. I then inked it and placed it approximately 2 inches from the left edge and 2 inches from the bottom of the base paper. .
My next step was to cut a piece from this patterned paper that is 5 inches long x 2 inches wide. . I again used my edge punch and ink and placed white side up on the top of my pink patterned paper, approximately 1/2 inch in from the edge. This is where part of your title will go.
Next, I inked my 2 Bazzill chip board hearts and sprayed them with Glimmer mist. While they were drying I matted my photo on white cardstock, inked the edges and centered on top of my Mousse patterned paper.
Once, the hearts were dry, I adhered them to each other and placed them in the upper right hand corner of my photo...trying not to cover to much of my picture.
Next, I placed my title onto the white cardstock across the top using the Bittersweet Chipboard alpha letters, I also choose to place the 2nd part of my title to the right lower corner of my photo using the same letters. I did however place them on top of a chipboard frame that was inked and sprayed with glimmer mist.
I did not have any journaling to add, but completed my title with Basic Grey Cardstock alpha stickers by adhering them down the right side of the layout, between the hearts and the frame. If you have journaling-- this is where you could add it using either alpha stickers, or journaling strips or stamps,etc....
I completed my layout by adding rhinestones and a sticker to the heart, inking the alpha stickers with a white pen, and adding some ribbon and two buttons to the lower left hand side of the patterned paper, along with a little stitched doodling.
And there you have a completed layout.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I am sure you have an awesome photo somewhere that is just begging to be scrapped like this.
