KaiserCraft Acrylic Album featuring Imaginisce Summer Cool

Class:  Acrylic Mini Album using KaiserCraft and Imaginisce Summer Cool

Objective: To demonstrate a beginner acrylic album

Directions:

I am a firm believer that if you are doing an ACRYLIC album....some acrylic should show through...otherwise, go chipboard.

So, to start off, I traced the page onto a chipboard piece, that I got in my shipment from ACOT.  I then cut out a template about a half inch or so smaller.

I then used this template to cut the paper for the first page.  I chose the striped paper.

Now....I adhere the paper to the BACKSIDE of the front page.  This means that you are putting your adhesive on the stripes, and adhering from behind.  This protects the album, as the cover then is the acrylic.

Next, I took the "summer" oval sticker, and centered that.  I then picked a flower sticker (they are 3D and SO cool!), added a Kaiser pearl, and stuck that on.  I then took the imaginisce paper flowers, layered them, added a button and a rhinestone from my stash, and put that in the lower right.

Now...if you are wondering my adhesive of choice for this, it is the tiny glue dots for the paper (hidden as much as possible in the pattern of the paper), and Scrappy Glue for the embellishments.

After I did that, I decided that I wanted the date on there, and used the date rubons from Little Yellow Bicycle.  My daughter Kiley's birthday is May 31, so I am going to give this to her to finish.  The rubons are GREAT.

So....let's turn over the first page, and we will have the paper side of polka dots.  (I LOVE polka dots :winkb:)

Because the pages are so small, I wanted to leave enough room for a photo....so I just added some thickers that spell fun.

remember....your album is YOURS.  pick any word you want!

Here is my page:

page 3 and 4

again, I used that smaller template, and cut out paper (brown polkas this time).  I again adhered to the backside....this time only becaue it was super easy to hide the glue dots in the small polka dots.

I then added those super cute flip flops and a section of the rubons on the end...again, leaving room for a picture.

A small commentary on rub on and acrylic albums....

Some rubons are colored (or black) on both sides, making them IDEAL for acrylic albums.  Since this collection JUST came out, I didn't have time before I ordered to find out.  These are actually white on the reverse side, so they don't look AMAZING from the other side, but they don't look BAD.  I prefer rubons that can be seen and enjoyed on both sides.  But, that is just me .

now the fourth page (the reverse of the brown polka dots)

Here i wanted to accentuate the awesome paper, so I just added three paper flowers, and the top of the ice cream 3D sticker.  (Even though I pulled it apart, you can still use the bottom!  Isn't that cool?)  I then added some pearls, 'cause Kiley is a bling type of girl!

next page:

If you know me and my kids....I make them write...a LOT.  I LOVED writing as a child, and my kids do, as well.  This album is so small, though, I needed to find a way to get more writing bang for my buck...so I came up with this....

The rubon sheet has the wavy words....I rubbed them on white Bazzill, then hand cut the strip, and adhered it onto the acrylic (on each end only).  I then put bling in between each word.  I cut 4 tags with my cricut, chalked them, added ribbon, flowers and pearls, and tucked them under the strip.

OK....backside of the tag page...i just cut a strip of paper, and used my exacto to trim the edge.  I then picked that sticker that is a perfect fit for the shape of the album....added the word "friends" with my Making Memories tiny alphas (can we say obsession?? :winkb:)...a perfect page for a larger picture!

OK...last page :-D

I am a matchy match person  (I am so trying to change!) but I wanted my last page (the backside) the same as my first....so I used my template again to cut the stripe paper...this time, adhering to the inside of the album (so that the back is acrylic)  I wanted the striped paper to face out.

So
inside of last page (just the paper and a thicker word)

and the very back of the album

rarely embellish the last page, because it is usually against the counter, or basket, or wherever you store your albums, and I don't want to lose any embellishments.  However, if you hang you albums, you certainly can add anything you want to this side!

To finish off, I tied ribbon to the jump rings (this ribbon ROCKS!!!!)
