Beautiful layouts chase away the Winter Blues!

Well, spring has sprung, and we on the CT here at A Cherry on Top are so happy to see that the winter doldrums didn’t keep all of you from scrapping some beautiful projects! Our spotlight this month is on the following fabulous layouts!

OH So CUTE by skinniminni

Was chosen by Cindy (kimandasmo). Cindy loves this layout first off because of the awesome bright colors. But, also that swirl is fantastic and the spinner is the perfect touch with all the circles...gives this layout tons of motion.
Laura F.  (Laura Fiore) thinks this layout is very cute! She loves the big swirl, and the ric rac around the big background flower!
Kathy (katarria) thinks this layout is absolutely adorable!  She says, "the giant flourish, spinner, and circular shape kept me looking at everything on this layout!"
Diana (dianagirly) loves the big flourish on this wonderful layout and thinks it’s cute!
Janell (janello) adores his sweet little face and how she highlighted it with all the delicious swirls and the way CUTE game spinner that points to the word "cute".
Beth thinks the gorgeous color combo and cool design really make this LO stand out.
Jess  (ScrapGoo) thinks the giant flourish on this is fantastic!  The circle elements really work here and that is a perfect use of the spinner!
Angie (nun69) LOVES all the swirls and that AWESOME spinning wheel!
Angela (bluejeans7) loves the spinner on this layout, such a cute touch!  
Sara (keling) says: "I just love the layers and swirls on this page, and the spinner is so cool!”
Ronny (smiley-scrap8) thinks this layout has an amazing design! The colors and patterns work flawlessly together and the spinner is a perfect touch.
Sarah (davsar) loves the creative repetition of circles.
Laura (Art_Teacher) loves the big swirl and the circular ricrac and she thinks the color scheme is terrific!
Diane says, “This layout is fantastic!” She loves the movement that the swirl, scallops and arrow add to the page.

Big Baby Blues by Susie King

Was chosen by Kathy (katarria). Kathy chose this layout because she was "immediately drawn to the gorgeous photo in the gallery.  “She loves the rounded corners, mix of colors, and kraft-on-kraft journal strips!"
Cindy says “This layout is very, very striking. The combination of blues against the kraft paper is stunning. The photograph is also amazing and just brings everything together.”
Diana says " The gorgeous photo in this layout is amazing!"
Laura F. thinks Big Baby Blues is such a fun title and perfect for Susie’s gorgeous photo! The repeated use of blue patterns really cement the story!
Janell thinks the color combo for this layout is amazing, the blue background and the splashes of orange really make this one eye catching page.
Beth says “This photo is a great shot and the blues with kraft paper really helps the focus stay on the gorgeous pic.”
Jess says "What a stunning photo!  I love that the kraft background balances the bright blues of the rest of the page."
Angie LOVES how her emphasis on BLUE is in BIG BOLD letters to go along with those beautiful blue eyes!
Angela thinks that photo is the sweetest and the title is perfect.  She also loves all the different shades of blues layered with the kraft browns.
Sara (keling) says: "Wow - gorgeous page - the blue totally makes his eyes pop out! (In a good way!)"
Ronny says: " Wow, what a gorgeous photo!! The paper and patterns are a perfect combo to really make the photo shine. And I love the journaling inked on the same paper as the background, very cool.”
Sarah (davsar) says, "Wow, the shades of blues and the inked edges make this a stand-out page."
Laura (Art_Teacher) says she cannot look away from the fabulous photo, and the way the title is done pulls you back to those gorgeous eyes again and again.
Diane loves this layout not only for the fantastic photo, but for the vibrant colors throughout. The kraft paper is a perfect background choice for a complimentary paper!
Karin says, "Wow!  If the mission to highlight those beautiful eyes, mission accomplished!  Great use of color - beautiful layout"




Today and Always by Rita S

Was chosen by Diana who says, “I loves the beautiful mix of patterns and shapes in this beautifully layered layout. “
Cindy is amazed by the photography, as well as the mix of colors here...amazing job.
Laura F. loves Rita’s work. She is as skilled at the details of digi as she is with a paper layout…beautiful work!
Janell loves the way Rita mixed all of the patterned paper in the circles.
Beth thinks that this photo is priceless and the accompanying LO is wonderful. She loved all of the circles.
Jess thinks this is just absolutely sweet! The layered circles are a great design and the frame treatment around the photo is awesome!
Angie LOVES all the different patterned papers and all the different size circles, not to mention the picture is STUNNING!
Angela loves the photo on this layout and the soft colors highlight it perfectly.
Sara says: "Simply beautiful!"
Ronny loves the bright bold background with the many circles of different patterned papers. The large photo really stands out well and shows such a special moment, great job!
Sarah says, "I loves the beautiful, rich colors and the Oriental patterns."
Laura thinks the photo is so precious and the colors perfectly complement it.



Treasure Flowers by mdjsburns

Was chosen by Laura Fiore, who says, “The way these amazing photos are framed is spectacular!  All of the elements in the layout make you feel as if you are gazing at the garden.”
Cindy feels that the colors on this layout are just amazing and the way the flowers are framed really makes them stand out.
The flowers are so pretty and Janell really thinks that all the eclectic mix of frames really adds to the photos and makes them shine.  A perfect layout for my pre-spring cravings!
Kathy thinks the flowers on this layout are just stunning, and loves the use of framing to highlight them!
Diana says, " Those flowers are fantastic!"
Beth says that the flower photos are pretty and she loved the all of the texture incorporated into the page.
Jess says, "The colors on this LO are so rich... and combined with the great patterns the overall design just feels like home.  Beautiful!"
Angie LOVES the different frames and the overall rustic feel of this LO!
Angela loves how the flower photos all looked like framed pictures hung on a wall.  This is a really great idea to do on a layout!
Sara (keling) says: "What a warm, beautiful page!"
Ronny says: "What a neat design, it actually looks like many framed flower photos set up on a table. The colors pop right off the page and I love the butterflies!"
Sarah says, "The details and layering are fabulous.”  She loves the mix of frames.
Diane loves the vibrant colors and frames used throughout the layout.  The various plaids and floral papers used provide a nice contrast. Simply beautiful!
Karin says, "Beautiful feature on flowers!  I love all the different frames used here!"



Tooth Story" by former Creative Team member Mommybruno

Was chosen by Janell. Janell thinks this layout looks stunning with its clean sleek lines and great pictures.  She loves how Cassie highlighted the every mention of a tooth in her sweet journaling! The page tells it's own story in a fantastic way.
Kathy's going to miss Cassie on the ACOT Creative Team because her journaling always tells a story.  In this layout, she loves "the way Cassie highlighted words in white, and blocked the journaling in with her photos on the page!"

Cindy thinks this layout is so cute. I love the photo placement and how she made some of the words stand out in the journaling, and the journaling itself is terrific.
Diana thinks the large photo and highlighted words in the journaling are awesome.
Beth loves the blocked design of the page.
Jess thinks this design is clean and the photos are perfect for telling the whole story.  The highlighted words in the fabulous journaling really stand out! Love it!
Angie LOVES Cass's journaling and how your focus is on her son's missing tooth by using such a large photo on her LO!
This is such a cute layout and Angela enjoyed reading the story that inspired it.
Sara says: "I really like the mix of photos and the close-up of the tooth in his hand."
Ronny thinks the grid form and close-up photos really make this page. "I love that the journaling is easy to read and what a cool touch to highlight some of the words with white paint. Awesome page!"
Sarah thinks, "the long cropped close-up behind the title is too cool!"
Laura feels that the closeup photo behind the title really makes the layout pop.  The journaling is very well done with the white highlights behind important words.
Diane thinks that this is a fantastic design! She loves the large photo used at the top, which is a perfect backdrop for the title and the highlighted journaling is terrific!
Karin says, "Eww!! This layout kinda grosses me out and intrigues me at the same time!  I *LOVE* the close up photos - and what a milestone to capture!"



Hunting for the Best Pumpkin by Midge

was chosen by Beth (Beth_W) who says, “We love to see Dawn posting to the gallery again!!!  We missed her awesome creations and this is the perfect example of why.  The design of the page is awesome and that tree rocks!”
Cindy adores the tree and all the colors here as well as the perspective of the photo. Such a wonderful layout!
Jess says, "Oh my goodness that pieced tree is adorable!  And I love the little fence and the tree paper... this is super well done!"
Angie LOVES how Dawn made her very own tree and her little beads she used as wind!
Angela says that she loves how the tree and fence was created on this layout.
Sara says: " I absolutely adore the tree. A perfect example of how to use up scraps!"
Ronny says, " I love that paper pieced tree, great colors and fun little scene. And the pearls are a perfect touch, what a great fall page!"
Sarah loves the pieced tree and loves the title work.
Laura says this is a perfect example of how to use a busy background to focus the eyes on the photo.  She loves the paper-pieced tree with the pearls, too!
Diane loves the design of the tree with the added pearls and the die-cut fence! A perfect fall page!
Karin says, "Oh. My. Word.  This tree just blows me away!! Such beautiful colors too - LOVE it!"
Kathy says, "Dawn’s recent layouts are inspiring me to complete some 8 1/2 x 11 pages!"  On this layout she loves the color scheme and the tree - what an awesome tree!

Janell just LOVES the paper piecing with the tree and the adorable titling, just such a cute layout.

Sunshine on a Cloudy Day by 1LuckyMom

Was chosen by Jess (ScrapGoo) who loves so many of the little details on this LO.  “The colors are fitting and the button rays of sunshine were the perfect touch!  That edge distressing is fabulous!” says Jess.
Cindy just thinks this layout is too cute. I love the photo in the raincoat, the button sunbeams and the little cloud. The choice of pattern paper is just perfect.
Angie LOVES the mix of bright yellow and blue on this page and the adorable rays of sunshine made with buttons!
Angela has a hard time scrapping with the color yellow but seeing this sunny layout she is inspired!  She loves the "sun" button idea and all the pretty yellow flowers.
Laura F. thinks Cortney did an amazing job of embellishing her sweet photo. All of the elements work together so perfectly!
Sara says: "A gorgeous photo!"
Ronny thinks this page is wonderful. "I can't pick a favorite part. Maybe the distressing, or the sun patterned paper, or the title, or the photo…It just all works so well together. Great job!"
The creative use of the buttons and the great colors just blow Sarah's mind.  She loves the page.
Diane thinks this is such a sweet page with beautiful colors. The added stitching and a bit of distressing are perfect touches to the layout!

Kathy loved this layout from the moment it hit the gallery!  "The title is perfect for such a cute photo and the colors couldn't match any better!  How great is that button sun???"
Diana was wowed by the color scheme of this pretty layout.
“WOW” is all Janell can say about this fabulous layout.  “Well not all, as there is a lot to love; the button rays, adorable grin, and fab patterned papers!”
Beth thinks the colors on the page work really well with her photo and the cute sunshine embellishment was very clever.

Little Boy Blue by BrandyL

Was chosen by Angie (nun69) because she LOVES the clean lines and the use of white space!
Cindy loves the color and soft feel of this layout…the all blue and white are just perfect. I love the circular elements carried throughout the layout and the black and white picture.
Laura F. thinks this photo is spectacularly sweet! The layout is soft and precious!
Kathy says, "Awwwwww...what a sweet layout!"  She thinks the use of white space is perfect for this layout and loves the little beaded date above the photo!
Diana says "That photo is precious and the soft bracket and blue colors-perfect."
Janell agrees that this layout is so fresh and soothing with the pale blues and white, perfect for any baby layout and this picture just tops it off.
Beth thinks the monochromatic color scheme really draws your attention to the photo.
Jess says, "This is completely sweet.  I love the tiny blue ric rac border and the black and white photo!"
Sara says: "It's so simple and effective!"
Ronny says, "This page is too cute! I especially love the ric rac border and the cluster of elements behind the photo. Beautiful page!"

Diane thinks this is such a precious layout! The ribbon border, small circles, and added stitching are fabulous!


Basketball by bethr

Was chosen by Angela (bluejeans7). Angela loves the accents of orange with the black & white on this layout.  The overall design and the layers of embellishments are awesome!
Cindy loves the grungy boy feel to this layout, along with the great embellishments to make it really stand out.
Sara says: "Very cool page - love that word paper in the background!"
Ronny loves the bright shot of color in the layout in contrast with the black and white photo and background. The background is bold but it is balanced well with the vertical elements that help guide your eye to the photo. Wonderful sports page!!
Sarah says, "The black & white picture with the black & white text paper is an awesome look."
Laura thinks this layout is very dynamic, and the bright pop of color against the black and white really captures the action in the photo.
Diana immediately thought, "WOW-this page rocks!"
Laura F. likes all of the embellishment strips Beth used on this layout…the graphic look of all the black & white is awesome!
"I love the rough and tough feel of this layout, adds to the athletic feel to this awesome layout," says Janell.
Beth thinks the orange, black and white colors were perfect for a basketball layout.
Jess thinks this layout fits the photo perfectly... the grungy, urban feel goes so well with that shot and the overall sporty feel and the orange just pops!

Was chosen by Sara (keling), who says: "What really caught my attention to lisarose's page at first was the really awesome black and white photo. The vibrant colour accents also make the page really pop!"
Cindy was drawn to this layout because it made her think of her daughter...and the black and white against the vibrant colors is fantastic.
Ronny thinks this page is great. "The photo is wonderful and I love it in black and white with the bright colors right beneath it. Fun page!"
Sarah is loving the fantastic picture and the bright colors against the black background.  Very eye catching!
Laura likes the simplicity of this layout to showcase something that is very important to the scrapper.

Cindy loves the happy spring colors here and how well they are blended. She also is always a fan of the big photo blended into the layout. Just perfect!
Sarah loves the combination of the beautiful blended photo and the natural elements.
Laura loves the softness of the photo blended into the background and says the shades of green really do bring the feeling of spring!
