Spotlight on Randi Oh Designs!

For this week's digital creative team reveal, we've got the spotlight on Randi Oh Designs!

First, lets learn more about Randi herself!

1. Randi, when did you start designing and selling digital scrapbooking kits?

I started designing in 2007 right before my son came home to us from South Korea. I was looking for a way to create a book for him and found myself altering every item in every kit I purchased. I started selling my designs in February of 2008 and joined ACOT in March of 2008.

2. What is your favorite part of digital scrapbooking?

Seeing the Layouts and projects created using my designs. I get such a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing I am helping to create beautiful memories. I also love creating papers and could do this for hours! It is like meditation! One of my other favorite things about digi scrapping is that I can make a page 1 time and print it or send it or create a slideshow/gallery or CD/DVD and have it forever .

3. Do you have a favorite kit that you created?

I really don't have a favorite. Each one was an inspiration from somewhere or from an experience that I translated into a kit or product. I do LOVE my Garden Delights and Harmony kits because I am a nature girl in that I am very down to earth and adore being outside in my garden. I love my Ronnee's Drawer kit because it has all the things my Mom would have in her drawer .. and I designed it when she was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer to help me feel her around me. Mom is currently Cancer free! I like the simplicity and shades of blue in my Shades of Blue kit and had a ton of fun creating my most recent Fortune Cookie sayings. Oh, and I do love my Annabelle kit - it's just a pretty kit but really works for a lot of LO's.

4. What has been your best-selling kit here at ACOT?

Garden Delights has sold the most and some of the LO's in the gallery are amazing to me. I LOVE to see them all!

5. Even though you are a busy designer, you scrap too! Share with us your favorite layout from  your gallery.

I don't scrap nearly enough and my gallery is small! I am going to pick 2 favorite Layouts, OK? I love SONshine of my life - it was a very special day, the day the adoption of our son was finalized and I used Ronnee's Drawer to scrap it so he is surrounded by my Mom's favorite things - and it was published in the Artisan Guild Notebook as an added bonus! My other favorite LO would be Garden Delights using my Garden Delights kit. This was the first time my little man sat in the grass in the USA and he was so happy - I had fun adding a flower to one hand and in the other he is holding a leaf that was really there .
 

6. Aside from being an awesome digital designer, what other hobbies do you enjoy?

I LOVE to write poetry and have had 2 poems published. I am also working on a book, though it may take me my lifetime to complete it! I LOVE to paint and have canvases around the house with abstract art - i adore color and texture. I LOVE photography, though not an expert at all, I always have my point and shoot with me and my SLR ready to go at home. Oooh, and gardening is another hobby too My all time favorite is decorating. I am an Interior Designer though I have not been taking many jobs since being a Mommy but I LOVE to decorate and create trash from treasure - I have been known to grab things from the trash like the end table in my son's room, paint it up, stencil it, add some hardware and wala.. treasure !

8. Show us your newest kit addition to your store. What inspired it? Is it on sale?

My newest addition to the store is NewsBits and it came about because I was painting and looked down to see my tarp and newspaper covered in water and paint and NewsBits were born My newest kit is Harmony which I designed because I wanted to bring a little bit of Spring time and all those wonderful feelings that go along with it to me and share it with others who are yearning for the seasons to change. I love the colors in this kit, they are fresh and shabby all at once and the elements are very detailed like the watering can that can be used to date a Layout. I have some QuickPages going into my store using this kit soon. It's a fun kit to work with, is very versatile and works for girls and boys.. I made sure to add some boy elements as most of my kits tend to be pretty. I have a son for goodness sake ! And yes, they are sale.

I LOVED working with Randi's BEAUTIFUL Harmony kit....all I needed were just a few stunning elements, a frame and a couple piees of paper and I ended up with this wonderful page! And I believe it is my current favorite LO right now, so THANKS Randi for such a wonderful kit to work with.

This week we are featuring the designs of Randi Oh. Her nature designs are my favorite, she seems to capture the feeling of a fresh spring day or a rainy afternoon in her images.

It was really fun working with Randi's kit - it totally has this garden / vintage feel - perfect for these sepia toned photos!

"Relaxing" by Janell (janello)
We used Randi Oh's designs this week and I scrapped with her new Harmony kit, which is just gorgeous and so flexible, I think it does masculine and feminine layouts perfectly!
