Tell us about your family

My dh Jim and I celebrated 11 years of marriage this past January. We have actually been together since I graduated high school back in 1993. We have one beautiful daughter, Elizabeth who just turned 6 this past Friday. We also have 3 Boston Terriers (Gizmo (7 yrs), Toby (4 1/2 yrs), and Molly (22 weeks old) and a bird (Sassy). My inlaws and my dad and his wife also live within 20 minutes of us.

How long have you been scrapbooking and what got you started?

I swore I would never become a scrabooker and then I had Elizabeth. I became an official scrapbooker after Elizabeth was born in March 2003. A friend gave me a CM album and some paper and the rest is history. My credit card has been on fire ever since.

What inspires you?

I get the majority of my inspiration from the gallery here at ACOT. I also love going to crops and seeing what others are up to.

How do your family and friends feel about your scrapbooking?

This is how my husband describes scrapbooking..."You buy a piece of paper, cut it up, glue it back together and add a few pictures." He isn't too interested. My daughter is a scrapbooker and has her own table in my scrapbook room. The majority of my friends scrapbook which is nice. There is always someone willing to go to a crop with me.

How did you find A Cherry on Top?

I found ACOT back in fall of 2006. I met a friend and her adorable son at an art class that my daughter was also in. We hit it off and she told me I needed to come on over to ACOT and hang out. Thanks Sus!!

How long have you been a part of the ACOT community?

I think it has been about 2 1/2 years. I now realize I need to get my butt over here a lot more than I have been, especially lately.

How did you pick your screen name?

Elizabeth has had the nickname Bean since the day she was brought home from the hospital, hence. mommy2bean
(cute story...about a week ago Elizabeth asked me if she could just be called Bean. Of course I asked her why and she told me because it is shorter and quicker to write at school...that's my girl!)

Do you have a favorite manufacturer/product line?

I don't really have one favorite but I do tend to buy a lot of Kaiser Craft, Fancy Pants, and Bo Bunny.

What scrapbooking item can’t you live without?

Probably my bling. It can spice up any page :)

What is a favorite technique that you like to use?

I do like to use my exacto knife and cut around different elements on a piece of patterned paper to tuck the photo in.

When and where do you create your layouts?

Unfortunately it has been awhile since I have scrapbooked. But when I am blessed with time, I do have my own scrapbook room that I can hide away in. I am a night owl, so the majority of my layouts are done after Elizabeth goes to bed.

What is a favorite layout of yours and why?

When I am flipping though my old scrapbooks this layout always makes me smile. I love the photo, I love how the whole layout turned out. I really took my time and, surprisingly, had fun cutting out and placing the flowers.

How would you define your style?

I don't really think that I have a style. The majority of my pages are unplanned and I just take the picture, the pp's and go with the flow.

What is your ultimate goal in scrapbooking?

To have beautiful books chronicling our family life for Elizabeth and her future family to enjoy.

Any other hobbies?

I love to read, knit (nothing fancy), and play on Facebook ;)
