July Guest Paper CT Reveal - RitaS

Little Yellow Bicycle Traveler

For the month of July ACOT is having two Guest Paper CT's.  So as you all know that means twice the reveals, twice the fun!  Up next is RitaS.  You can learn more about Rita and see the awesome layouts she created using the new Traveler line from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Family members: Jesse, Kyle and Abigail (Abby)

Pets: Ruckus (a Greater Jardine’s parrot that we raised from 4 wks of age – our family used to operate an aviary raising African parrots), and Kito, whose name is Swahili for “African jewel” – he is a lovebird of many colors. Interestingly enough, Jardine’s are known for being quiet species, but Ruckus is living up to her name, given by a 4 yr. old in the family that originally adopted her.

Birthday: March 26

Favorite television show? Monk (this is not a religious show, but one about a neurotic P.I.)

Favorite movie? Toss up between “Return to Me” or “While You Were Sleeping”- both romantic comedies

Favorite thing (non-scrap related) to do without your family? Take a walk with my camera on nature trails – “shoot” the birds, flowers, anything that looks cool

What's your favorite scrapping tool to use when scrapbooking? Circle cutter (I have 4 brands – use them all!)

What's the one thing you must have readily available when you sit down to scrap? A small clearing on my table in which to work – I tend to be a pretty messy scrapper.

What would you like the ACOT members to know about you? I am a simple kind of gal. I don’t need fancy clothes or a house, or exotic vacations – and am really quite content spending time with my family and creating whenever I can. A dream vacation would be to get to stay home a week, scrapping (uninterrupted of course) in my sweat pants and favorite big shirt, with a mocha latte delivered at9 a.m. each morning.

Per my sisters, I was born with all the creative genes – I have been the family artist (although I no longer can draw like I used to!), writer and poet since I could wield a pencil. Someday I would love to publish a couple of children’s books with stories I made up for our kids, which are “sung stories”. I have dabbled in just about every craft, from cross-stitch to welding useful garden art with copper pipes, and have been done the entrepreneurial road as well. I’ve owned a business, developed and marketed product, and learned shipping it out is a lot of work - I much prefer less stress in my life. Now that I work full-time, in a totally “left-brained” job, I need my creative time more than ever – if I don’t play with my scrapbook supplies every day, even if for a bit, I can tell my easy-going personality is affected. Playing with paper and scissors makes me much easier to live with!
