Meet Chas/evilqueen

Our featured guest for June

Help me in welcoming Chas, aka evilqueen, as our featured guest for the month of June.  You can find her on our message boards or you can check out her fantastic gallery here.  This is a photo of her and her adorable daughter Quincie:

Tell us about your family:

I met my husband Mark at work and after almost 10 years of marriage, we still work together.  I think just about every one here knows my daughter Quincie who is 8.  She is a little smart alec artist.  And I consider her two best friends, Jenna and Jada, part of the family. They are always over at my house.
 

How long have you been scrapbooking and what got you started?

I have been scrapbooking for around 8 years. A friend of my husband was having a Creative Memories party and I went and was hooked right away.
 

What inspires you?

I love to look thru the CT team's gallery and of course Quincie is a huge help. If I am stuck on a layout I just ask her and she will tell me her thoughts.
 

How do your family and friends feel about your scrapbooking?

My husband does not care.  It keeps me busy but my parents really love what I do.  My mother always goes in the gallery and shows the ladies she works with my work.
 

How did you find A Cherry on Top?

I was searching for a new place to shop and came across ACOT.  Now this is the only place I buy my scrapbooking stuff now.


How long have you been a part of the ACOT community?

I have been on the board for about two years.
 

How did you pick your screen name?

I picked my screen name because I am very evil and the queen of the house.  Just joking.  I love Disney villians.
 

Do you have a favorite manufacturer/product line?

I love Sassfrass Lass, KI Memories and Making Memories.

What scrapbooking item can’t you live without?

Right now it would be stickles and pearls.


What is a favorite technique that you like to use?

A few of my favorite techniques I like to use are ripping the paper and inking the edges.


When and where do you create your layouts?

I have all my material in the spare bedroom with mine and Quincie's computers.  I try to play a little each night when Quincie is playing on her computer.


What is a favorite layout of yours and why?

This is one of my favorite layouts because first I love that photo, and I think the colors just blend together.

How would you define your style?

I don't think I really have a style.  I just go with the flow.


What is your ultimate goal in scrapbooking?

I really don't have an ultimate goal.  Scrapbooking is something I just enjoy doing.


Any other hobbies?

I love to decorate cakes and whenever I get a chance, I do some cross stitching.
