Tell us about yourself.
I'm a mom of two married to a farmer for almost 10 years. We live on the farm pretty much in the middle of no-where. DH works with his dad and older brother to farm corn and soybeans. DH (Jay) and I were set up by my pastor friend while I was in Nebraska visiting from Ohio. I moved to Nebraska about 4 months after we met and we got married 1 1/2 years after we met.
Tell us about your family.
We have two girls. Emily is 7 and Kaitlyn in 5. DH and I are both middle children, so only two kids for us :)
How long have you been scrapbooking and what got you started?
I started collecting supplies right before Emily was born. My aunt got me started by giving me an album and supplies for Christmas. It took me about 1 year to get brave enough to try to use them! And then I had a friend hold my hand as I cropped my first pictures!
What inspires you?
I am inspired by things my girls do, pages in the gallery and just life in general.
How do your family and friends feel about your scrapbooking?
My mil is my biggest fan. She loves to see what I've done and even joined ACOT to be able to watch my gallery. I've gotten several friends into scrapping and now they are as addicted as I am.
How did you find A Cherry on Top?
I shopped when it was still Stickers Galore, but first hit the gallery during a Doodlebug challenge. I then found the message board during a weekend crop and got hooked.
How long have you been a part of the ACOT community?
It's been about 4 and 1/2 years since I first posted a layout. It's probably been about 4 years that I've been on the message board.
How did you pick your screen name?
I use deerewife since my dh farms and loves John Deere.
Do you have a favorite manufacturer/product line?
I will always love Doodlebug, but love some of the newer manufacturers like October Afternoon and 3Bugs.
What scrapbooking item can’t you live without?
I can't live without patterned paper. Since I got over my fear of using it, I tend to use it on every layout.
What is a favorite technique that you like to use?
I really like distressing lately and using the Heidi Swapp pink distresser tool.
When and where do you create your layouts?
I tend to not get lots of time to scrap so I'm usually at a crop somewhere. My friends and I have gotten braver and have had up to 6 kids running around while we take over the kitchen. I have a scrap space being built in the basement, but it's a slow work in progress.
What is a favorite layout of yours and why?
This is one of my favorites of Kaitlyn's - I love the colors and the design (which was scraplifted)

This was a challenge and my first time doing a monochrome layout. I love this picture of Emily and the layout really showcases it.
How would you define your style?
My style is ecletic. It's constantly changing.
What is your ultimate goal in scrapbooking?
To document my children's lives. My mother passed away at a young age and my dad has no memory - I want to give my girls what I can't recreated
Any other hobbies?
I love to read.

You sound like someone really fun to be around. I also lost my mother as a young child, so I understand why you want to leave your children with precious memories.
