Three Elements, a Dozen Ways!
Showing the versatility of digi scrapping.
This week’s reveal is all about the versatility of elements in digi kits! Each CT member used the following items in different ways to show you what you can do when challenged to use something specific:
the border from Laura Burger’s “Bric a Brac” kit.
the mesh from Laitha’s “Love’s Dangers” kit.
one of Julie Mead’s “Antique Filmstrip Frames.”
Every layout is so unique; you can hardly believe we all used the same items. All of these gorgeous items and most of the other items in the layouts come from right here in the ACOT digi shoppe! The digi CT were free to crop, recolor, layer, and alter the items, as long as they used them! See if you can spot them in every layout.
Laura used a template by Julie Mead, and fit her three items in easily!
Sarah says, “I loved this reveal because it was a real challenge to me using these three different elements.”
Karin recolored some of the flowers in the border, as well as the mesh, to match her sweet photos.
Amanda incorporated the 3 items with several other beautiful embellishments for this special layout of her grandmother.
Happiness Is...by Ronny (Smiley-Scrap8)

Ronny explains, “I really wanted the photos to be the focus in this layout, so the 3 elements listed are the only elements I used to embellish my page. I created a page I never would have put together without the challenge of using these items. I'm happy to say I love the result.”
Angie tells how she created her layout, saying “I chose to duplicate the border and use it under the filmstrip and I also duplicated the mesh element a couple of times and used it through out the LO...this was a lot of fun!”

“I must say, this challenge was a little harder than I thought it would be, simply because I was desperate to use this one picture. Fortunately, with a little shifting, I was able to break it up into three parts to fit the three frames!” says Sara.
Jennifer used the 3 items for a heritage layout, where they all “mesh” for a fabulous look!
Kirsty takes a look back at her son’s four years and how they have flown by, while including the 3 items expertly.

Jenn uses the border and filmstrip frame to create a wonderful cluster, which she balances with the mesh and tag in the opposite corner.
Shannon really changes up the 3 items to create this lovely layout.
Love circa 1996 by Kristianne (MamaK321)

Kristianne created a nice cluster with the required elements and used the bright teal background to really make the kraft paper pieces stand out.
I hope you are inspired and maybe you want to try using these three items (or 3 unrelated items of your choice) in a layout!
Below are some of the wonderful kits used for this reveal.
About the author ...
Laura (Art_Teacher) has been an ACOT member since July of 2003, a digi CT member since May of 2008, and she has been scrapping for 10 years and digi-scrapping for two. While she really likes the versatility and organization of digi scrapping, she just loves to "fondle" her supplies, so she will always be "bi-scraptual!" She is married and has one spoiled Golden doodle named Paisley. When she isn't scrapping, she enjoys making ceramic pottery, reading, playing and listening to music, and watching way too much t.v.!
