AUGUST Creative Team Spotlight

You've DAZZLED us again!

Even during your very busy summer season, you scrapbookers have stayed in your scrappy groove and given us lots of dazzling eye candy to oooh and ahhh over in our gallery! Here are a few standouts this month:

30 Weeks bymrsduke2u

was chosen by Kristianne (mamaK321) who says, this layout is too cute! She loves the patterned paper peeking around the edges and how the word art is faded into the background.

Jen thinks this layout has a lot of great elements and loves the faded words in the background.
Sarah thinks, "The cute title work and the way the journal strips are blended into the background are wonderful details on this layout."
Angela loves the color combo and all the layers of embellishments highlighting the photo.
Jess says, "This is adorable! I can really relate to all the pregnancy comments and I love the subtle journaling on here!"
Karin loves everything about this layout - but totally melts when she sees that cute little title and pregnant person element. So adorable!
Laura M. enjoys the cute treatment of this layout, and she especially likes how the journaling is blended into the background paper.
Beth liked the creative title and how she did the journaling in strips.
Egle loves how the journaling blends into the background paper and the cute title.
Sus loves the wording on the paper (not twins...lol)! And she loves the ribbon edges everywhere.
Laura F. loves the sweetness of this layout! The photo and dangling cluster surrounding it are so cool!
Janell says, "The journaling is something that every woman can relate to at right about 30 weeks of pregnancy, but it adds an element of fun to the layout and this is such a great added embellishments with the staples and sprinklings."

Was chosen by Jen (sarahwhithers). Jen loves how fun this layout is! The colors are bright and the circles add a great flow to the page. Not to mention that adorable picture!
Janell says, "This is so cute and such great colors that make his suit pop!"
Sara  says, "The colors here really jump out and grab you!"
Kathy loves the clustered elements on this layout and thinks the photo rocks!
Kirsty says: Great use of colors and circular elements!
Annelies loves the colors! She says, “Such a bright and fun, great page!”
Jenn K. says she loves the circle cluster across the middle of the page. The ribbon circling the photo is very creative too.
"Such fun bright colors and fantastic layering with the circles!" says Sarah.
Wow! This layout features Angela's favorite color combo!!! She loves the bright blue, green, and orange together...perfect for a cute boy layout. And all the detail layers around the photo are simply awesome!
Jess thinks the collection of central circles on this layout is a great focal point and the photo is too cute!
Karin thinks the messy circles Rock!
Laura M. thinks the photo in this layout is wonderful and she really likes all the layered circles framing the photo.



Tranquility by bj_ella

Was chosen by Sarah (davsar). Sarah says, "Gorgeous!! I love the background picture and how there are smaller colored pictures arranged on top."
Jen thinks this page is gorgeous! The giant picture as the background and the soft color added to the page with the elements is stunning!
Angela is stunned by the beautiful photo on this layout. The little bit of flowers and swirls is the perfect accents to allow the main photo to stay center stage.
Jess says, "This layout is beautiful and evocative. The central image has so many layers and is complimented well by the other elements."
"WOW!" Karin says. "The black and white main photos make the smaller color ones totally pop out! What a cool effect."
Laura M. exclaims, "The black and white photo background is so breathtaking! I love all the color embellishments against the black and white!"
Beth liked how there was a large black and white photo and smaller colored photos to convey the meaning of the layout.
Egle loves the look of the black and white photos here used as the background paper and then adding small pops of color with the smaller photos and embellishments.
Absolutely stunning, Sus thinks! The splashes of color against the black and white really make the whole layout pop.
Janell thinks this layout is such a standout in the gallery with the beautiful photos and then the great popping title and embellishments.
Sara says, "The photography here is simply stunning. The use of black and white really adds to its mystery, and the blending of the two photos is awesome!"
Kathy says, "Wow! I love the mix of black and white with the small pops of color - awesome layout!"



Nature Boy by Deanna Kroll

Was chosen by Angela (bluejeans7). Angela was drawn to this layout because of the awesome design. She also loves the mix of both color and black & white photos together. And of course that tree is the perfect embellishment.
Sarah loves the soft nature colors and the beautiful tree.
Jess thinks the tree on this layout is really neat and the photos are awesome! The frame really adds a perfect border too!
Karin totally digs how the dainty butterfly and bird elements were used on this boy layout! Works fabulously!
Beth liked the large frame around the layout and the tree accent was perfect!
Sus loves the use of a black and white photo with a colored photo and she LOVES the tree. Great design.
Kathy loves the bracket frame here and the use of layering!

Beach Bum by skinnimini

Was chosen by Jess (ScrapGoo). Jess thinks this layout makes awesome use of patterns! There are many patterns and textures on here but they all balance out wonderfully... and the double framing really grounds the whole design!
Karin says, "The bright fun colors of the photos really grabbed my eye! All the elements and paper complement it so well, while letting the photos take center stage."
Laura M. says, "The photos under the beach towel are just too adorable! I think the elements work together wonderfully to draw you into the photos."
Beth thinks these photos match this paper perfectly. The layering works so well with the design.
Egle likes how the colors of the embellishments really complement the pictures.
The texture on this layout is AMAZING. Sus loves all the extra little touches, such as the multi brackets used on the side.
Janell comments, "I love those eyes peeking out from under the beach towel! This is such a vibrant layout full of colors and endless things to look at. I also love the ribbon folds and the distressed edges."
Sara says, "The photography here so bright and vivid, and I love the torn edge around the border!"
Kathy is totally in love with this layout. She thinks the colors are so pretty and loves all of the layers!!

Willkommen by Marlen

Was chosen by Karin (mayerkt). “Another Belly shot - I couldn't help myself!” Karin says "I love the simple color scheme, and how the red bow really draws the focus right to that beautiful belly! So very nicely done!"
Laura F. is in love with the softness of this layout…who can resist the sweet belly photo and sprinkling of flowers surrounding it?
Laura M. is drawn to this layout by the black and white color scheme with the red ribbon encircling the belly photo. "This is a beautiful way to highlight such a special time!"
Beth likes the classic look of the layout with the black and white photo and the simple color scheme.
Egle says, "Every time I see a pregnancy shot like that, I wish I would have done these when I was expecting. I love how the red ribbon draws my eye right there...to what will soon be a present to this mommy."
Sus says, “Another case of perfect coloring against a black background. The splashes of red and pink are fantastic.”
Janell adores the clusters around the beautiful belly shot, which celebrates this lovely layout. What a wonderful way to commemorate this happy occasion!
Jen loves the B&W look to this page. It has just the right splash of color to make this page jump at you.
Sara says, "Awesome job using a monochromatic color scheme, as well as mixing a photo mask with a bow frame to highlight the belly. The red completely draws you in."
Kathy says, "The pink ribbon adds just enough color to make this layout pop - great use of white space!"
Kirsty says, “I always love seeing pregnant bellies, it always portrays such emotion. I love the red ribbon over the photo! “
Annelies loves this 'sober' but lovely layout. The red circle around the belly is the perfect finishing touch.

Was chosen by Jenn K. (Jjenni08), who loves this layout because it is so much fun! She loves how busy yet organized it is!
Annelies said that she loves this layout because there is so much to see, and the idea is so original. It’s a really great memory for later.
Jen thinks this page has a great mix of papers and color and the pics are perfect. What a great school page!
Kirsty says, “I love the variety of photos, with such a great use of elements! Great title work as well!”
Kathy likes how all of the photos were clustered and how she included journaling to help remember the preschool days!
Sara says, "This is such a fun and wonderful page - great mix of photos, and I love the colored alphabet along the bottom, as well as all the whimsical embellishments!"
Janell says, "This is so adorable with all the little pictures and the school themed element. This has been scrapped with the perfect kit!"

Angela always loves a layout that has so many photos used on it because she has trouble herself with using many photos on one layout. On this layout the design is put together so well.
Jess thinks there is so much to look at on this layout... what fun! Love the apple in the "O"!
Karin loves the fun, whimsical elements and thinks this layout is so very adorable. Ahhh how it takes her back - it also makes her wish she could go back in time to bring teacher an apple and finger paint.
Laura M. explains, "The photo collage in the center is fantastic, and I love how all the elements echo the colors in the photos. It is a busy layout, but just enough to add interest while showcasing the story."

Was chosen by Laura M.(Art_Teacher), who chose this layout for it's gorgeous color scheme, classic black and white photo, and sweet journaling. She loves the way the white flowers and swirls frame the entire layout.
Jen loves the B&W photo with the purple! It's beautiful!
Laura F. says, “Is there anything Rita cannot do? She does amazing layering, on both her paper and digital pages…this is just gorgeous!”
Beth thinks that this page is amazing. The crisp black and white photo, the pretty purple colors and the white flowing elements around the page make this a pleasure to look at.
Sus thinks the overall design on this is fantastic. She loves the picture and the ribbon strips behind it.

Was chosen by Beth (Beth-W). Beth was immediately drawn to the pretty colors and fantastic design. The placement of all of the elements really makes the page flow and the journaling is so sweet!
Sarah says, "How cute! I love the non-traditional Christmas colors and the design is amazing."
This layout is beyond cute to Angela. The photo is darling and she loves loves the journaling and quote.
Jess says "I love seeing these colors on a holiday layout! This is a beautiful arrangement of elements and I adore the photo, the string around the "J", and the speech bubble!”
Jen thinks this page is stunning! The bright colors, the fun Christmas embellishments, the adorable picture, it all amounts to gorgeous!

Was chosen by Susan (suslvgeo). Sus LOVES the teardrops in between the diecut areas. She loves the placement of the photos and all the extra little goodies added in.
Jen loves the set up on this page. The pictures are adorable and the little bits of bling everywhere are an eye catcher!
Kathy loves the bling embellishments and the overall design on this gorgeous layout!
Kristianne thinks this design is absolutely darling with the large focal photo, bold title and girly embellishments.
Beth loved the design of the layout and all of the added embellishments.
Laura F. thinks this is such a charming layout…the stitches, the row of adorable photos, the pompom trim, and the bracket shape are all perfection!

Was chosen by Kathy (katarria) who loves the soft pastels in this layout and thinks the fence is just adorable!

Laura Fiore has been scrapbooking since her kids were little and now they're mostly grown up! She loves using layers of patterned paper and swears she coudn't live without her edge distresser. Laura has been published several times in Scrapbook Trends magazine and idea books, in the Fabulous Friendships Idea Book from Memory Makers, and in Layout Blueprints 2. She is on the design teams for Magistical Memories and Scrapping the Music challenge blog. This November, Laura will celebrate 21 years of marriage to her husband Vic. Her daughter Jessica is in her second year of college, and her baby boy Nick is a Senior in high school. Running is a huge part of Laura's life...she's completed 11 marathons and is now coaching a marathon team for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. She also teaches fitness classes at her local gym.
