Bo Bunny makes me a Gypsy at heart!

The new Gypsy collection in all it's glory!

Ok, I will admit to being a little loopy when it comes to certain scrappy products.  Once in a while the colors and designs in a collection will make me want to get up and dance or sing. It is sort of like my weird thing with the smell of books (but we don't need to get into that!)... a compulsion to celebrate the total awesomeness of the products.    Bo Bunny's new Gypsy collection was one of those lines for me.  The gorgeous, spicy colors make me want to put on layers of long skirts and dance barefoot!  The patterns are layered with depth and there are just a ton of embellishments that you will want to play with.  You can almost hear the tamborines and fiddling when you are looking at this stuff.

Bo Bunny geared this line towards Fall but there are about a million uses for this color scheme.  Naturally Autumn leaves would look amazing against these backgrounds but I can also see it being fabulous for Summer beach photos, romantic black and white or sepia photos, travel, or wedding themed projects.  The swirl stickers, rub-ons, jewels, and brads are all very elegant with a touch of shabby.  I promise you that you will not want to put this collection down once you get your hands on it!!!

Fiesta Mini Album

I had been holding on to these photos for a few months.  They are from my best friend's wedding shower, which was a Mexican fiesta, and I was really concerned with finding just the right paper to compliment the bright colors we used to decorate.  The minute I saw the Gypsy collection I knew it was perfect!  I used a chocolate colored Basic Grey album as my base.  It has a huge variety of page shapes that may have been difficult to cover but is not really a problem with the method I used.  I wanted to avoid having to make all the papers flush with the edges of the album with the usual cut and sand method because there were just so many nooks and crannies to deal with.  Instead, I simply traced each page onto the patterned paper and then followed each outline 1/8th of an inch inside the line.  When I cut it out and adhered it on the page there was a nice border of the chocolate brown showing and I didn't have to worry about clean edges.

The first step was to cover the edges as I described above.  Then I printed and matted my photos with the awesome double dot cardstock from Bo Bunny (it coordinates with the collection) and adhered them.  I embellished each page with some of the flowers, jewels, brads, rub-ons, and stickers from this line.  I absolutely love working with a large selection of products from the same line when I am doing a mini album.  It makes it a snap to coordinate and you don't need to waste time and energy sifting through your stash to find embellishments that "work".

Here is the cover (with a touch of ribbon and tags):

Here are a few more pages but you can see the rest of the album in my gallery:

"For You" Bag

Homemade presents always look better when they are wrapped in homemade packaging!  I had this bag in my gift wrap supplies and thought it went really well with this line.  It was a snap to personalize the bag to coordinate with the mini album.  I used a few of the papers for a background and embellished a large swirl sticker with some of the jewels.  I added a rub-on and layered some flowers in the upper right corner for balance.  The ribbon was from my gift wrapping stash... I loved the pop of teal!

"Just Married"

Well, after the shower comes the wedding, right?  My friend and her new husband drove off to their reception in this adorable red car that just happened to match the vibrant red from the Gypsy papers.  I used a sketch for inspiration and this layout came togther super quickly.  The bottom half is one of Bo Bunny's awesome die cut scallop circle papers and the circle above that was cut from a pattern in another sheet of paper... so easy!  I layered the most fantastic orange flourish sticker on the left side... one of my favorites from this line!

"Happy Birthday" Card

How do you create cards?  Sometimes for me the inspiration comes straight from the paper I am using.  These papers have a lot of dimensions and shapes printed on them... plus there is an entire sheet of journaling blocks.  This card came together quickly when I looked for the bracket shape to cut out for the left side and used the small square journaling block layered under it.  More stickers, layered flowers, brads and a simple stamped sentiment completed the outside.  As a special finishing touch I applied a coordinating rub-on to the inside.

I used the following products for these projects:
