FANCY PANTS Little Sprout

The unbabiest baby line!!!!

When I saw these papers from Fancy Pants, the last thing on my mind was making a baby album with them...so I didn't!

Sure, some of the papers are juvenile, some are soft and beautiful and would be PERFECT for a baby page, but that would be way too obvious for me. Besides that, I love all of the varied patterned papers and tags enough to use them on my every day photos. You know, just to share with you how untheme a group of papers can be!

For my first layout, I chose a few of the more masculine papers to showcase these photos of one of my son's best friends, Brad the Lurker. The photos crack me up because he looks perfectly innocent while messing up our family photo shoot. But if you know Brad, you know there are very few accidents when it comes to placement, LOL

The richness of the brown paper, the shape of the border cut from the strips page, even the ricrac edge of the journaling spot all equal boy to me...the fact that the border strip has the repeated It's a Boy across it is even better, because I can't see Brad ever growing up completely!

Next, I used some of the brighter, more fun patterns to do a layout from the day we moved Jessica into her college dorms. The fact that she had the biggest pile in the parking lot after unloading the car is truly a tell-tale sign that she is my daughter...we like to be surrounded by our "stuff". And packing light is out of the question!

Here's one of those times that I used lots of patterned papers together. I stuck to some basics, though, with the dots and stripes so they were very easy to use. The Welcome tag sticker made the title I chose come to life!

On this next layout, I wanted to play up the age difference between my dad and his great granddaughters, who have him completely wrapped around their tiny little fingers. They are completely irresistable to him, and the feeling is mutual!

I used some playful, childlike paper and mixed it with the rich brown of the cardstock and the more mature floral print...it fits perfectly with the photos! The daisies from Petaloo are a great accent on this layout!

Lastly, I went for it. The papers really are beautiful for baby or children layouts, so I had to do at least one layout of the apple of my eye Mackenzie! I know I've scrapped a few similar photos of her, but she was particularly eye catching that day!

I used two more of those really fun Little Sprout stickers on this one...the zigzag border one under the photo actually said Precious baby boy, so I covered it with the photo, and the hanging monkey tag is perfect since Kenzie's daddy calls her his monkey!

Two other things I'd like to point out...all of the ribbons used on this reveal are from Making Memories...they have a travel line called Great Escapes that uses a lot of the same colors as this Fancy Pants line. If you're ever looking for great ribbon choices, look for a line or a kit that has some of the same colors as you are using, and I'll bet you find you can use far more of them than you thought you would!

The diecut journaling spots are also from Fancy Pants. It's their Delight Notebook Journal, and wasn't made to match this kit specifically, but their papers have the same feel most of the time, so it made them very easy to cut up and use...try it, you'll like it!
