Has there ever been that one thing that you saw in the shoppe that you just knew you had to have...but never bought. Everytime you look at your wish list it is still there, but you never get it. Well, this month I finally got it. I have had my eye on this train from KaiserCraft forever. I loved it but was not sure what to do with it...until now. As soon as I saw the Polar Expressions line by Imaginisce I knew exactly why I had kept that train in my wishlist. They are the perfect combination for each other. The little stamps, ribbon, felt goodies and stickers were just what I needed to make a Christmas centerpiece for my table. When I was a little girl we always had a train under our Christmas tree, but as an adult we do not have one, mostly because of space issues, but I always miss it. I am hoping this little train on my table is going to be a great memory for years to come.
I started by assembling the train. Then as you can see here...
you have little nibs that you have to sand off. that was my first step.
After I finished that I painted all of the edges in a red paint to match my papers.
When that was dry I covered each section of train using the pattern papers from the Polar Expressions line and Mod Podge. When finished you have a pile that looks similar to this.
I then re-assembled my train and set to embellishing it. I used stickles for the wheels and edges to add some sparkle....it is a Christmas train so I figure you can not have to much glitter and shine. I could not resist these little felties and glued them to popsicle sticks so they could catch a ride on the train. I used the stamps to add little "signs" to the sides of each train car, and then tied it all together with matching ribbon.
When I was done I filled each compartment with "snow" and little packages and candies.
Thank you so much ACOT for allowing me to work with these great products.
