Prima is one of my favorite scrapbooking companies EVER. Every time they put out a new release I think I can actually hear my wallet cringe because I want it all. This newest release is no exception. I have always been a fan of their flowers but they keep getting better by adding new dimensions, styles, finishes and centers. Their patterned papers are all double sided and usually can mix between lines. The new pearl swirls are to die for. I love all of the vintage flowers. The list just keeps going so you can imagine my excitement when I found out I would get to work with them this month.
Pretty Prima Headband
As soon as I saw these flowers, I knew they would be perfect for a headband for my daughter. Headbands with larger flowers are in style big time right now but some of them are really pricey. I have seen them cost $20 and more. I grabbed a skinny headband we already had and using hot glue, attached it to the headband. The flower comes attached to a piece of fabric. I cut a small piece of felt (a 1” circle or square or even a piece of fabric would work) and sandwiched the headband between the fabric on the back of the flower and the felt. My daughter is 7 and I wanted it to be more sturdy. She thinks it is the greatest thing ever and we have gotten so many compliments. Plus, I got major cool points.
These flowers are so gorgeous and can be used to embellish so many things. I could see a simple T-shirt become something extraordinary. They could be easily added and changed with a safety pin. You could add them to a purse, tote or even pin them on a blazer or sweater. When you think about what they could do for an outfit, these flowers are a bargain!!! They could also be used to make Christmas gifts.
Here are some photos of the headband I made:
Confidence
While taking photos of my headband, I got some great shots of my daughter that went with my patterned papers so well. I ended up combining the new pearl corner swirl, some gallery roses, some stitched charms and even some packaging (the olive colored scalloped pieces.) The patterned paper was so pretty, I couldn’t cover it up.
Walks on the beach
Photos of the beach go so well with the blues and greens of these patterned papers. I knew I was going to be adding lots of flowers in a cluster, so I kept my patterned papers around the edges of the page and sprayed the middle of the cardstock with some Glimmer Mist. I think Prima Papers and Glimmer Mist are a fantastic combination.
On this page, I ended up using the page pebbles, Evelyn Baby Lillies, and some sage leaves.
My Sister
I loved the bold Reds of this line and knew this photo would be perfect for them. Again, I made clusters of pretty flowers and sprayed some Glimmer Mist on the page.
On this layout, I used the new Painted Ladies in Red, the new pearl flower centers, and some of the new Trellis Roses. I used the coral ones here and also spayed the bottom one with a little Glimmer Mist to customize it.
Furry Cousins
This last page was really fun. I used the flutter vine, and a couple of roses along with some really pretty patterned papers. I created my background by cutting circles out of a piece of patterned paper and stitching them on to my kraft cardstock.
