Sassafras Lass is known for products that have unique, playful, and eye catching patterns and colors, and their new Amplify line is no exception! I have to admit I have always been a bit timid about using their products because they are a bit out of my comfort zone. All the patterns and colors kind of freak me out! KWIM?! But once I got this line in my hands I decided I needed to take a different approach. I decided to challenge myself to think outside the box, to not be afraid and most importantly to have some fun! Once I did this, the fun times started flowing!!! I am going to share with you some tips and suggestions that I came up with that helped me have more fun and to feel more comfortable using their papers.
Funnel Cake
For my first layout I used the cut and conquer method. I incorporated some of the fun strips they include on the edges of their papers and then I used a large piece of solid colored cardstock as my background paper to offset the patterns. I also added solid borders to the photos and the large piece of patterned paper to provide some contrast.
Lights Camera Action
One of the first things I noticed is that most of their papers have a more subdued design on the reverse side. Here I used one of these less busy designs as my background and another as a larger photo mat. I once again used strips of the patterned paper to add more color and contrast.

All You Need Is Love

Hello! How are you?
For my card I used a strip of one of the patterns to create the card base and then added a cardstock sticker, a flower sticker and some curlicue bling!

I hope this reveal gave you some new ideas and ways of playing with nontraditional patterns and designs and made you stop and think about stepping out of your comfort box once and awhile to play!!!!
