Living in Wisconsin, we have a classic Christmas. There is almost always snow on the ground, it is cold, and we have absolutely no trouble convincing our children that Santa DOES come down the chimney....because we all HAVE a chimney! Because of that logic, I tend to search for classic Christmas LINES. Although I love the creativity of manufacturers when they add funky colors and whimsical designs, I tend to gravitate towards traditional lines. My decorations are traditional, we decorate our trees with homemade ornaments and gingerbread cookies, and to me...Santa wears RED, not pink!
When I first saw the Making Memories Mistletoe line, I KNEW it was one that fit my style. The papers are so beautiful in real life, and all the embellishments are incredible. I just wished I would have waited to order (I couldn't...too excited!), as there are a ton more things in the line that I didn't get, so please make sure you check it ALL out!
So...after I tell you what a classic Christmas line this is...my first (and favorite!) layout is one of a cardinal. He was sitting in the crabapple tree outside our breakfast nook. I have tried for years to coax cardinals into our backyard, and this year they finally appeared. This line has many cardinal elements, but I choose not to use them, as I didn't want to distract from my new friend. The versatility of this line is incredible!
Here are some traditional Christmas layouts. I have learned over the years that more pictures aren't necessarily better, so I try to get one or two good shots, put away the camera, and enjoy the day! This is Kiley opening a gift. I tried my hardest to keep it simple, as I wanted the picture to tell the story of her Christmas. I must say, though....I am addicted to stick pins!
Those of you that know me and my family, know that field hockey is a HUGE part of our lives. Here is Kendall getting her first field hockey stick that wasn't used
. She will complete the journaling herself. (She had the flu when I uploaded the picture).
This line has incredible embellishments. Two of my favorite are the felt snowflakes in the Trims and Treats, and the overlays in the Spiral Journaling Book. Both of those are on the following layout, of my children a few years ago at Christmas.
During the holiday season, we attend MANY parties. I have already started making hostess gifts in anticipation. The masking tape is perfect for gifts for teachers and friends!
Although I LOVE many other Christmas lines (and I may be doing another one next month!) this line is perfect the time-honored Christmas layout. It is Making Memories at their finest!

Beautiful work, I love how you've used the patterned paper in strips in the "Making Dreams Come True" layout and how you used the lined paper as the background. You rocked this line. | |
