And What A Year It Was! 6 comments

Year in Review Digi Layouts

Posted by Mommybruno

The end of December is always a natural time to stop and take a look back at the past year. It's amazing how much gets done in 12 months, and how much your life can change from one year to the next. When it comes to sitting down and scrapping a whole year, there are a lot of different ways you can approach this. As our Digi CT will show you, whether you use lots of pictures or none, what matters is recording the events and happenings that were most memorable to you. Ready to take a look back with us? Let's go!

Happy Holiday 2008, by Ronny (Smiley-Scrap8): Here Ronny has adapted the year in review idea to a greeting card! Look at all the pictures she got on there!! Here's what she had to say: "For this reveal we are showing off a whole year/month on one layout. I decided a while back that I wanted our holiday card for this year to include many photos to review the entire year. So here is my family's card for this year with all of my favorite photos from 2008."

Good Riddance 2008, by Sara (Keling): Proof that you don't need any pictures at all to add to your record of the past year, Sara created this layout that touched on all the bad things that happened. She says: "This year has totally sucked for me, so it was hard when the month/year in review theme came up for this week's Digi reveal. I just can't wait for the year to be over, and I've been feeling so crappy, so I hoped that highlighting how crappy this year has been would be somewhat therapeutic."

A Year With Stuart Little, by Cassandra (mommybruno): I got twelve pictures on this one-page layout without it feeling at all cluttered! There's just a little bit of journaling on this, since I let the photos have the spotlight.

Month In Review: June, by Amanda (mkcdaisy): It's not just a whole year you can review, as Amanda shows here with her review of the month of June. This is a good way to focus your review, and allows for more detail. She says: "Our reveal this time was Year or Month in Review. Each year I make these calenders of monthly new events. Mainly things that are talked about lots or a big deal."

Another Year Has Gone By, by Diana (dianagirly): Diana created this stunning layout using only one photo and a brief overview of the year as it related to her and her husband specifically. She says: "Since Jake and I got married so close to the new year, I decided to do my year in review about our 7th year together."

2008 In Review - Scrapbooking, by Cassandra (mommybruno): This layout started as a regular review, with family photos and such. But as I was going through my journal taking note of events, I saw that I'd recorded a lot of scrappy-related items. So I switched this layout to be a scrappy year in review instead, and I really like how it came out! I'll have to update December of course, but this was a fun way to show some papers and elements, and record my scrapbooking events from the last year!

2008 Year In Review, by Karin (mayerkt): Karin reminisces on a year full of ups and downs while using a combination of adorable focal photos of her son with some favorite family photos as accents.

2008, by Laura (Art_Teacher): Laura found that using a photo template grid made quick work of compiling her favorite photos from the past year.

Seasons I Love You Best Of All, by our December Guest CT member, Kami (-Kami-): For this great layout design, Kami selected only 4 photos of her children, one for each season of the year. This is a perfect way to show how much your kids grow and change over a span of months.

2008 in review, by Kristianne (MamaK321): Kristianne gives us another great example of how you can create a review of the entire year and not fill your page with photos. A few select photos of the years' highlighted events and some journaling is all you need.
