Harvest Moon by Creative Imaginations

Posted by LoveMyBella

Creative Imaginations is one of the cornerstones of the scrapbooking industry.  The name alone induces thoughts of pretty papers and absolutely divine embellishments.  But, for me, it also induces fear.  The papers are usually so pretty that once I receive them, I’m paralyzed.  Paralyzed by thoughts of inadequacy, knowing other people “use” them better, showcase them perfectly.

I was brave this month and decided to work with the Harvest Moon line of papers and embellishments.  Fall in Minnesota is a myriad of gorgeous colors and filled with field trips to apple orchards and pumpkin patches.  And, it’s punctuated by the spookiest night of the year.  I figured I couldn’t possibly goof this line up.  Right?

Once they were in my hands, I absolutely fell in love with the rich fall color palette and set off to put the focus on my cute little girls in all of their fall glory.

Isabella, playing in the leaves.  The colors are perfect for the picture and really bring an autumn feeling to the page.

We take an annual trip to a well known Minnesota fall destination called Emma Krumbee’s.  Apple orchard, scarecrow festival, pumpkin patch, and amazing ice cream all rolled into one warm fall afternoon.  Rather than leave the die cut as a whole, I cut out the middle and used the lace edge as a frame.  I love the way it turned out.

The most amazing thing about these papers is that the reverse side on many of them is very different.  It’s easy to create a whole new feel.  The back side of several sheets is a shabby chic Halloween style.  I loved that you could literally create layouts that were totally different from just one line of papers.  And, again, rather than leave the die cut sheet in one pice, I cut this one into a few pieces and outlined them in Stickles.

These are great, love the idea of cutting the last one and outlining it. The one of Bella is awesome with the way you made the pumpkin so dimensional. That is also a great family pic and looks great outlined in the scallop!!
