Basic Grey Indian Summer 14 comments

For those of us living in This fall season, Basic Grey has manufactured an incredibly beautiful and versatile line called Indian Summer that I’ve been using to scrap all of my fall photos. With gorgeous embellishments, papers, journaling cards, transparencies, and stickers, Indian Summer has everything you could need for your fall projects!
Don’t you just love when you make it into a family photo? My heart skips a beat when my husband offers to take pictures of the kids and I together. On our recent apple picking adventure, my husband got a great shot of the three of us together. Yeah! To balance that photo in the layout, I used one of the Indian Summer Take note Journaling cards across the layout. I added several pearls from Prima to the top of the transparency and layered several stickers from the Element sticker sheet throughout the layout.
Sibling rivalry. That is really all I need to say. Can you relate? My kids are going through a bit of transition right now and they always seem to be in a disagreement. They usually start out playing nicely and then the tide could turn at any minute. LOL! A few weeks ago, I managed to catch some of the great moments on camera. I used the best shot of the bunch for this layout with the chipboard, woolie, and take note embellishments. In September, our family took a trip to Honey Pot Hill Apple Orchard. In the past, any orchards that we have visited have apple trees very low to the ground so you could just reach and grab the apples. At this orchard, you have to climb the ladders to get to the really good apples! As you can imagine, my kids were beyond excited at this new adventure. In this layout, I had several photos that I wanted to use from our trip. I decided to create an oval border using the Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridge and then I placed my embellishments and photos inside of the oval. (The oval was cut at 8”).
I usually find it impossible to get a great group shot of my kids with their friends. Someone is always looking the wrong way or has their eyes closed. Last month, I got lucky and got a great shot of my daughter, Lauren, with a few of her friends while we were at a party. Using a simple design to highlight the photo, I added just a few small embellishments and the names of her friends. Lauren plans on hanging this layout in her room! Products Used:
