pretty and sweet with a little sass!Posted by megamay Oh I just adored these papers when I saw them! I love purple, if it's done right, and this is definitely done right! There is just enough black and punches of orange and green to make it funky and fresh. Yet the blues and purples are soothing and sweet. Oh and the designs of the flowers are retro and fun too! I just knew this was the line to use for a sign to DD's bedroom door. I used a piece of thick cardboard and covered it in paper. For the words, I cut out the artisan shape from the cut-outs paper and then mod-podged it onto thinner cardboard so I could set it off the side of the base without worrying about it's sturdiness. I added a few flowers and a whole lot of bling, because what 4 year old doesnt love both? And voila! A door sign that I think any girl - from 4 to 14 (or maybe even 40) would love! next I used a sketch from PageMaps to come up with this layout. I just love how the orange sets off the purple, so I used orange my little shoebox letters and orange ribbon from doodlebug tthat I had in my stash. I also used the Kaisercraft stamp from my reveal last month, because it is so versatile and was just the right touch! I stamped it onto a card from the packaging of the icandyChipboard, and then cut it out. who could resist this gorgeous flower shaped die cut paper? This page came together so easily! I thought about mounting the die cut paper on another sheet of paper, but I just love the dramatic look of this page without a square mat. I made a small slit and tucked the corner of the square from the cut-outs page, so that it goes underneath the scalloped edge, because I didnt want to break the line of the scallops.
I just couldnt stop using this paper. I made several cards with it because I just loved each one a little bit more than the last! This first one I used a digi stamp from Sliekje on her blog - she has a bunch of cute freebies there. The others, I used the free printables from Kaisercraft that go with the Gypsy sisters line, along with some sentiments that I found somewhere online. (Ill update this to include where) The gypsy sisters colors didnt appear on my computer to match, but for some reason when I printed the printable out (intending to use it with some gypsy sisters stuff) the colors matched the sophie colors more than the gypsy sisters. Guess it is just my printer or my computer.
