Crate Paper Restoration 9 comments
good to the last drop!Posted by megamay This collection was my absolute favorite from CHA this year. It might just be my all time favorite. I feel seriously blessed to have been able to do a reveal on it! Unfortunately I didn't have as much time as I would have liked, so I still have a lot left over. Expect to see MANY more pages using this line from me, and maybe an altered item or two! For this first page, I didn't even get into the collection pack, I started with the die cut paper and the composite on the cover of the collection pack, and voila! This page came together in minutes! I cut the smaller strips from the cover sheet inked them, crumpled them and stitched them on. The paper behind the photo is from the larger pieces of the cover sheet also inked and crumpled. I used a sticker border and some rubons, added a title, and that's it! Next. I moved on to this sketch that I found on the design dollies blog. I wanted to make a sort of masculine page for this photo, so I used the orange, green and blues. More stitching here. Next on my list was using the sketch from Pagemaps.I used punches on the yellow scrap leftover from the 'doily' in the above layout. (which I cut on my cricut) Then I used the cardboard backing of the rub-ons packaging to punch the blue circles out of. It's the same pattern as one of the papers, but I figured, why not recycle the packaging since it was laying there, and save the other paper for later! (I really want to make this gorgeous line last as long as possible!) TONS of stitching here! For the title I arranged all the Delight font thickers and then inked some of them lightly so you can still see the green peeking through in a pattern. Finally, I moved on to this layout. I wanted it to be girly and sweet. It got a little distorted when I cropped it - sorry about that. I used two different patterned papers here. But I cut the middle out of the striped one because it was covered by the other one, and I thought - why not save that scrap for later! There is a lot going on here - die cuts, chipboard and stickers and rub-ons. I created the tag by lightly glimmer misting it, then stamping it, then journaling and finishing the top off with a die cut border, some patterned paper and just the hint of a sticker border.
