Creating Vintage Layouts With Bo Bunny 's Et Cetera 7 comments

Posted by JulesinParadise

After I had been scrapping for a couple of years, I inherited a box of old photos when my mother and then my aunt died.  I had never done a heritage layout nor had I done anything even remotely what could be termed "vintage".  But, the photos moved me discover a whole new venue of scrapping.  I read articles and searched out heritage/vintage layouts trying to determine a common denominator.  Had Bo Bunny's Et Cetera line been around then, I sure could have saved myself a lot of work and trouble.  With this line, even scrapping non-heritage photos take on the richness and depth of those of long ago.

I did change my contemporary photos to sepia from the color versions.  If you would like to learn more about this process, be sure to read Pam Bennett's upcoming Oct. reveal as she will be showing how to change photos to black and white and sepia among other things.  Personally, I can hardly wait!

Bo Bunny has thought of everything...the flower was exactly what I was looking for .  I love adding lace to the layouts.  My great aunt use to tat lace and it brings back such fond memories for me.  I printed one copy of the photo in sepia and then a larger version onto a transparency.

I wanted this layout to have that "found in a box of treasures" appearence.  When we were closing down my grandmorther's home in Iowa, I discovered such a box in my grandmother's attic.  It was filled with dried flowers, little momentos and letters to her from my grandfather.

Turning this photo of the twins into sepia and then printing it onto a transparency was fun.  I wanted the print from the paper to show through.

I used the Tim Holtz flower die to cut thee flowers out of assorted papers from the line.  The paper pack has so many papers in it that I didn't feel like I was wasting any using a sheet or two for these.   I love how the paper print is on the outer edges of the paper.  It makes placement of photos so easy as I hate to cover up any pretty designs!

I had been wanting to scrap this fun photo for quite some time but could not find papers that made it work.  These were the solution to my problem and I love how it turned out.

Bo Bunny's Et Cetera line makes vintage and heritage layouts so easy even if you do not have old family photos and more so if you do!
