Cricut Mother's Day Seasonal Cartridge 12 comments

Posted by Beth-W on Tuesday, February 9, 2010

For my reveal, I got to work with the new Cricut Mother's Day Seasonal Cartridge.  It is a limited edition cartridge with 30 Mother's Day images.  Some of the images include flowers, flourishes, lace papers, and words.  It does not contain any of the creative features but that makes the price tag very affordable.

When I first saw this cartridge I was really excited about the new doily/lace papers you can cut.  How amazing that you can customize the size and color.  Some of the lace papers available premade begin at $3 and you are stuck with a 12x12 size and a limited color selection.  The flourishes and flowers are very cute.  Also, one of my favorite new trends in scrapbooking is banners and you can cut your own in any size.

Dream Big

For this page, I cut a large doily out of pink cardstock to match my photo.  I matted it on black cardstock and added it to my background.  I love that I was able to customize the color and size of the doily so easily.

Kitty Kisses

For this page, I cut the banner and large flower (and the mat for the flower) with the Mother's Day Cartridge.  I am not sure if you can tell from the small size of the image, but I made my photo black and white and colored the kitty's tongue pink so it stood out in the photo.

Colorful

I loved this photo of my daughter and downloaded some free actions to tint a black and white photo.  I found free actions for both Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS by goggling the phrase.  I was able to make my photo 5 different shades and with the Mother's Day Cartridge, I cut flowers to match.   The flexibility to cut different sizes and whatever piece of paper you want really make me love the Cricut.

Special Visit

For this page, I cut the accents and their mats that were placed on both sides of my photo from the cartridge.  This was just one of the cute accents the cartridge has to offer.
