I can hardly believe it is December already! We have had an extremely mild November here in the Northeast but the songs on the radio and trees on car rooftops are reminding me that the holidays will soon be upon us. Maybe you like to scrap during this time to ground yourself amidst the chaos or maybe you need to put together some gifts. Either way I hope these challenges will help you out this month!

Ad Inspiration Challenge - By MamaK321 (Kristianne)
Paper or Digital Scrapbooking
Ad inspiration is about taking ideas, such as colors, patterns, title or keywords, theme, font styles, and element placement, and using them to create your own layout. You can break the ad inspiration down to a basic sketch, copy a prominent design straight from the ad, or you can alter a design to fit your own layout. Most ads are 8.5x11" but you can adapt the ad to fit any size. Remember, this is not a sketch and you are not required to follow every detail. The key is to really LOOK at the ad and find the pieces that INSPIRE you!

Altered Object Challenge - By JulesinParadise (Jules)
Paper or Hybrid Scrapbooking
I am an avid collector of small cardboard boxes; the odder the shape and size, the more I love them. I keep them on a shelf and when I need something to alter I gravitate towards the boxes first. I've made tiny houses of of them, photo frames and holders for little mementos and mini albums. Here are just a few from my current collection. Most of these are less than 6 x 4 x 2 inches.

And here is what I created out of one someone gave me eons ago. This box with its flap measures only 3.5 x 3 x 1/2 inches.

Using rub ons, metallic inks, and bits and pieces of saved goodies, I made this.

My challenge to you for this month is to repurpose a small box into something fun. The sky is the limit so have a good time!

Card Challenge - By bluejeans7 (Angela)
Paper or Digital Scrapbooking
It's December and Christmas is just around the corner. Make a Christmas card with a Santa or snowman as an accent.

Color Challenge - by Art_Teacher (Laura)
Paper or Digital Scrapbooking
One of my favorite Christmas images is the candy cane. I love the symbolism, the taste (mmm....peppermint), the shape, and the colors! This December, your color challenge is to use the traditional colors of the candy cane: red and white! For a little twist, throw in some silver or gold as an accent! You may use other colors, but the layout must be at least 75% red and white and there must be silver or gold accents on it.

Countdown Challenge - By sarahwhithers (Jennifer)
Paper or Digital Scrapbooking
For this challenge you will create a layout using a countdown method of items. I will list five different kinds of things (eg. elements, papers, photos) for you to use in your layout. Every month there will be five new items for you to use.
5 - Christmas or Winter themed items (can be paper, elements, stamps, whatever!)
4 - Stars
3 - Buttons
2 - Pictures
1 - Frame
You are welcome to use more than these items (eg. 5 stars instead of 4 is fine) just as long as you meet the required list and numbers asked for each. A page example is seen below.

December's challenge comes to us via the Digital CT inspirational reveal featuring our ACOT digital designers. Your challenge this month is to create a layout using only ONE designer. You can mix and match, but everything you scrap with should come from one designer.

December Faithbooking Challenge - Rejoicing
Create a layout along the theme of rejoicing! Feel free to use any of the quotes below, or one of your own, but the layout must follow the theme.
"Let the heavens be glad and let the earth rejoice; And let them say among the nations, 'The LORD Reigns!'" ~ 1 Chronicles 16:31
"This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it." ~ Psalm 118:24
"And my soul shall rejoice in the LORD; It shall exult in His salvation." ~ Psalm 35:9
Good Christian Men, Rejoice - Traditional Christmas Carol
Good Christian men rejoice
With heart and soul and voice!
Give ye heed to what we say
News! News!
Jesus Christ is born today!
Ox and ass before Him bow
And He is in the manger now
Christ is born today!
Christ is born today!
Good Christian men, rejoice
With heart and soul and voice
Now ye hear of endless bliss
Joy! Joy!
Jesus Christ was born for this
He hath ope'd the heav'nly door
And man is blessed evermore
Christ was born for this
Christ was born for this
Good Christian men, rejoice
With heart and soul and voice
Now ye need not fear the grave:
Peace! Peace!
Jesus Christ was born to save
Calls you one and calls you all
To gain His everlasting hall
Christ was born to save
Christ was born to save

Hybrid Challenge - By Smiley-Scrap8 (Ronny)
Paper AND Digital Scrapbooking
December Hybrid Challenge: make a photo ornament or photo gift tag using a digital kit. For my example I make a photo ornament using the Deer to My Heart Kit by Bella Gypsy Designs. Then I embellished it with some flowers and stickles. The cool Merry Christmas tag was right in the kit, very fun!

Supply List Challenge - By Beth-W (Beth)
Paper or Digital Scrapbooking
For the December Supply List Challenge, use the following on your layout: buttons, stamps, stitching and something you were given.
Christmas is a time of giving so pull out those supplies you were given. It could be something purchased with a gift certificate, an actual present someone gave you or a RAK that you received or won. For my layout, I used a stamp and buttons that were given to me by my friend, Kristin.

Theme Challenge - By ScrapGoo (Jess)
Paper or Digital Scrapbooking
Ok, ok, I succumbed to the obviousness of this month's theme! I want to see you scrap about a winter holiday tradtion. In my example you see an old photo of my dad sitting on Santa's lap. Lately I have begun to get excited about starting that tradtion with my own soon-to-be-born little man!
So, show me layouts that feature a holiday tradtion that YOU love!

Trends & Techniques Challenge - By Megamay (Meg)
Paper Scrapbooking
Clusters and layers have been popular for a while now, but the new layered bling embellishments take it to a whole other level. So, your challenge this month is to layer and cluster, or layer your clusters.
In this layout I have lots of layers, but take a closer look at the cluster of flowers, The whole cluster is layered over the swirl of peals, and there are two types of bling layered in the center of the smaller flowers.
