Digi Reveal: Plenty of Patterns 2 comments

Posted by MamaK321

Have you ever had trouble combining more than one patterned paper on your layout?  It is not as tricky as some of you may think.  A Cherry On Top's Digital Creative Team took on that challenge this week for the reveal:  "Plenty of Patterns."

Take a look at our layouts and see how each of us combined more than one patterned paper onto our layouts!

Advice:  Happiness by FairyMouseMom (Egle)

Egle wrote:  "This layout was created for ACOT's Digital Creative Team's Reveal: Using two or more patterned papers on your layout.  I love to be able to do this by mixing and matching papers from different kits. I like to use some neutral solid(s) and work from there. Here I used the neutrals as my background paper and scalloped border and added pieces of patterned paper for adding color to my layout. I thought the template worked perfectly here with this theme as I put together a bunch of patterns together."

Crack Me Up by MamaK321 (Kristianne)

Meowy Christmas by sarahwhiters (Jennifer)

Jennifer says:  "The digi reveal this week is about using patterns. Do you ever have trouble using more than one patterned paper on a page? For mine I used a few patterned papers by scattering them around the pictures and adding one to the BG paper. I love using patterned papers as layers cuz it adds a little extra to those solid papers!  Pictures of my cats enjoying Christmas wrapping paper on Dec 25, 2009."

The Wright Stuff by Art_Teacher (Laura)

Laura wrote:  "This week's reveal is about using patterns. One thing that always helps me is using papers from the same kit. Also, choosing a background with a subtle pattern and using the more detailed patterns as the small elements is a good way to go about combining them."

Your Face by janello (Janell)

Janell says:  "A way to easily include lots of patterned paper on a layout is to border your layout with pattern paper, I also think it make a nice way to frame your layout. I also used small blocks of different patterns to fill in spaces for my photo placement."

Santa Cookies by nun69 (Angie)

Angie says: "This week's reveal is all about patterned paper and what better way to mix up than by using a template and then just build and build on top of it!  Don't be afraid to use those patterns!"

Play Hard by davsar (Sarah)

Sarah writes:  "For this reveal we are showing off the patterns. I loved how the structured white grid of the background paper made the grunge board pattern really pop!"

Game Not Over by jjenni08 (Jennifer K.)

Jennifer wrote:  "Noel's love for videos is a bit of an addiction. He is a game collector and it takes up a whole closet!! He will outgrow it. Right?"

Old Me by annelies1972 (Annelie)

Annelie says:  "This picture of me is terrible! but it is still a photo. i made this page for the plenty of pattern reveal.  The kit I used is story of a princess by Hazel Olive design."

It's Christmas by Keling (Sara)

Sara wrote:  "Patterns in small strips on a solid paper is a great way to mix them, especially when they're from the same kit!  Journaling: "Our new family tradition! From now on, we’ll decorate the Christmas tree as a family, even if it means Daddy just sits and plays the guitar! - 9 December, 2009"

Give Her Wheels by Smiley-Scrap8 (Ronnie)

Ronnie states:  "This weeks reveal is showing off how to use multiple pieces of patterned paper on one layout. Now this is a challenge for me as you can see, but you can never go wrong using small amounts separated by a solid color. I place my photos and patterned paper in a grid format with a brown solid surrounding each so things don't get too busy."

I hope we may have been able to conquer some of your fears about mixing patterned papers together on your works of art.  Don't forget to upload your creations in the gallery for all to see!!!
