{Not} All Boy & GirlPosted by MamaK321 Who says boys can't wear pink and girls can't be bikers?? Everything is topsy-turvy in the following layouts (Let's just say the girls have highjacked a few Harleys and the boys are off striking poses)! The CT got a little confused and scrapped boys with girly kits and vice versa. And we kind of like it!! Hope you do too. Janell (janello) says "I chose to scrap with Becky Kress's "Start your Engines" kit. My daughter is surrounded by cars and prefers the boys' toys to her own." Jenn (sarahwhithers) "used an old pic of me sleeping with my cat Puffy and used the kits Jaspers Jammies and Tuff Guy by Bella Gypsy. So you can use those boy kits for the girls in your life too!" Shannon (-Shannon-) took a funny picture she caught of a nephew and trapped him in a pink prison - lol!! The amazing Karin (mayerkt) completed two fantastic layouts - one with her little boy moving at the speed of life and the other of two precious little girls. Karin says "Even though the girls are both wearing pink, I utilized soft blues & greens with slightly masculine elements to balance all the girlie-ness. I love how it turned out!" "The reveal this week was to use an opposite gender kit to scrap the photo. I find this easier to do when the subjects of the photo are wearing a variety of colors or to change the photo to black and white. Of course, items can always be recolored in digi, making kits that much more versatile!" Laura (Art_Teacher). Sara (Keling) also used a bit of recoloring. "When it comes to mixing up kits for the sexes, one of my favourite tools to make it just right is the "Colour Balance" tool (Photoshop 7.0 -> Image -> Adjustments -> Colour Balance). The theme of the "Punk Mama" kit was perfect for this wild & crazy photo of my son, Tommy, who is also learning guitar now. But if he saw the page in pink, well... You can only imagine how this 7yro would re-act!!! So turning it to an orangey-red, makes it work!" "Honestly, my boys are so boyish that it is hard to scrap them in pink. But occasionally, like Valentine's or Mother's Day or when they are sleeping, they seem so sweet and soft that girly colors and fluffy frills work" says Sarah (davsar). Jennifer (JennK) matched a cute boy kit with her title "Mommy's Monkey". Ronny (Smiley-Scrap8) says "I chose to show my ds off in a very pink and purple layout because those were the colors he was painting with in the photos. The layout is all about color and his usual need to have everything blue. Using a boy themed kit would never have worked but this girly on gave the exact look I wanted." Here are a few of the kits highlighted in this reveal: Posted by MamaK321 Reader Comments ... 11/11/09 9:19 am
