Hippity Hoppity Easter's on it's way 15 comments
and spring and passover too!Posted by megamay When I saw Hippity Hoppity from We R Memory Keepers arrive in the shop I just couldnt resist. We are not big on Easter around here, and I am not big on pastels, so I usually don't care for Easter lines of paper. This one is different! The colors are so bright and springy and refreshing. I couldnt decide which papers I wanted so I just ordered the collection pack, which is a GREAT deal! I can't believe how many sheets you get along with letters and die cuts - amazing! For my first page I couldn't resist using the stitched cardstock. While it did not come in the collection pack, it is also fabulous! Love the color, the texture, the stitching, everything! I used the front of the collection pack as a template, cut out the bracket design, and traced it onto the lovely striped paper. After that, the whole page just came together. I used glossy accents on the butterflies and the flower.
Next I tried a multi-photo layout. I noticed that the photos had a lot of blue with pops of pink, so I decided to go with a similar color scheme for the page. I used blue glimmer mist on the background to make the circles stand out more. The flower circles I cut from the glitter paper in the pack.
Next I tried a non-Easter layout. I changed the photo to black and white because the colors didnt match at all. Then I pieced the papers together to make a pinwheel design. Again I used glossy accents (my new favorite thing) on the flower and the die cut frame.
I used some of the scraps from my other creations to make this card. I used a maya road chipboard tree, painted it white, with glossy accents to adhere the micro beads. I used it along with misc buttons to echo the trees on the paper.
Finally, I got really inspired. I had this really ugly easter basket with fringe all over it and I thought it would be just awesome to alter it using these papers. So I pulled all the fringe stuff off, sprayed it lightly with glimmer mist to tone down the brightness, then wove paper strips through it, to cover all of the strips. Then I mod podge-d it to make it more sturdy
