Spotlight on HotFlash DesignsPosted by Art_Teacher
Summer is heating up and this week the Digi CT has some wonderful layouts that feature designer Marci Parmeley's HotFlash Designs. You may not know that Marci started at ACOT as a wonderful member of our Digi CT. Now, we get to use her fun designs to create our layouts. The first layout uses Marci's newest kit: Steak on the Barbie. Sizzlin' Hot by Art_Teacher (Laura) Laura says, "This kit is colorful and perfect for all those summer photos!" These next two layouts use two fabulous kits that will be great with the upcoming 4th of July photos you take: Grand Old Flag and Menswear Mini Kit. 2nd Grade Celebration by Smiley-Scrap8 (Ronny) Ronny explains, "I just love this red, white and blue kit, it's got such a homey feel, and reminds me of the 4th of July decorations on my mantle. It was the perfect choice for these photos of my dd's end of the year party which had a patriotic theme." Fabulous Fourth by Art_Teacher (Laura) Laura tells us, "Marci has many gorgeous kits, with wonderful color schemes that are so versatile! I especially love her patterned papers! For her two layouts, Janell used Marci's Brown-eyed Girl kit, saying, "I really love Marci's beautiful papers. These two pages that I created show how you can take such elegant looking papers, add a few of her beautiful elements and end up with such a simple, yet beautiful scrapbook page." Mom and Dad by Janell Cousins by Janell Another fun new kit by Marci is Rock On! iphone by Smiley-Scrap8 (Ronny) Ronny agrees, "I love Marci's patterned papers, they have such fun patterns and great colors. Perfect for these slightly too dark photos of my kids." Our Digi Guest CT uses one of Marci's older kit series, A Little Bit Country, for her terrific, heritage layout: Traditions by ScrapEgypt (Cielle)
Cielle describes her layout, saying, "The kits are incredibly versatile, with so many wonderful papers and elements, and they can be used on so many different types of layouts. I also like that each kit has a color theme (black, teal, green, burgundy, etc). I think I have them all! Finally, Angie used HotFlash Designs in some gorgeous hybrid projects! Thank You Card by nun69 (Angie) Angie discusses how she made this, saying, "I took the orange patterned paper in Marci's kit, printed it 11x1 in and then accordian folded it and made the flower :) I then just embellished with a bunch of flowers, brad and buttons from my stash." Upcycled Soup Cans by nun69 (Angie) Says Angie, "So the little ones and I ate chicken noodle soup today and I decided to upcycle the empty cans :) I made 2 paper strips {1 for Ben and 1 for Abby} and made them each 4 x 10 in. I embellished them some on the computer and then printed. Then I embellished with some stuff from my stash and VIOLA! They now have a can for the pencil, pens and markers !" We hope you will be inspired to have a "HotFlash," too! Here are some of Marci's fabulous kits used in this reveal. Posted by Art_Teacher Reader Comments ... 6/20/11 7:13 pm
