Now that Thanksgiving is over, and the leftover turkey is in the fridge, it is Black Friday.  Before the CT rushed out to do holiday shopping, they put their minds to work on great ways to use black as the dominant color in a layout.  Hopefully, these dark layouts will shine some light on your creative mojo!

Virtuoso by Art_Teacher (Laura)

Laura says, "I paired black with pale pink, because I think it is one of the most elegant color combinations."

Ronny explains, "To be honest I find this a challenge, black well past red is my least favorite color to scrap with. So what helps me is to chose brightly colored photos and elements to standout on top of a background of black."

Jenn says she "Went with a black BG to make the blue elements really pop!"

Janell tells us, "I love this look, black goes with anything and I always think that black with one other color is a wonderful take on a very trendy monochromatic look! I love this dramatic pose my son gave me, he's not really mad, he was making silly faces and this was one of them."

Annelies uses brights and a cluster of photos to stand out against a black background.

Angie was inspired by a Hot Flash Designs kit to use brown with black and it looks fantastic!

Sara claims, "Black always works as a background with any layout, simply because it makes the other colours, even if only used as a small accent, to POP!"

Karin says, "I love how the black background really makes my photos stand out!  And, its the perfect backdrop for the metals and blues of the construction themed kit!"

I... by FairyMouseMom (Egle)

Egle writes, "I used a picture of me that was altered into a poster effect. I enhanced the primarily black and white layout with some pops of red. I titled it "I..." for the word art I used which fits beautifully with the poem I used. Who would not love to have a poem written for her like that one?"
