Little Yellow Bicycle Twig 8 comments

Posted by Dianedi

Looking for the perfect scrapbooking paper line to use with your outdoor, nature, or masculine photos? The Twig line from Little Yellow Bicycle is definitely for you! With fabulous shades of blue, green, and brown, you will be amazed at how versatile the Twig collection can be. As always, Little Yellow Bicycle has created an incredible variety of embellishments including canvas, clear stickers, chipboard, decorative edge cardstock and more. For my reveal, I've created a combination of outdoor, boy, and girl layouts and a few cards to give you an idea!

"Mohawk Mania"

What happens when you have two bored kids on a Saturday morning? They play hairdresser of course! (Luckily, without the scissors!) While it was suspiciously quiet in the house, my 8 year old daughter helped give my son, Colin, a fabulous mohawk. Apparently, she decided to use daddy's hair gel and did it the right way. It was remarkably straight and looked good for most of the day. I was pretty impressed!

For the layout, I started with one of the 6x6 Decorative Edge Cardstock papers. About one inch from the left handside, I cut it into two pieces and used it to frame either side of my photos.  I added a Twig canvas border at the top of the layout and used a Twig Clear border sticker on the bottom. I added several embellishments from chipboard, journaling strips to flowers. Alphabet sticker letters are from Pink Paislee.

"Dalby Farm"

I've been determined to catch up on some of my son's scrapbook pages. He is in kindergarten now and I'm just finishing up some of his preschool layouts. Getting there! This layout is about his preschool class trip to Dalby Farm. Looking back, this was such a fun age to accompany on a field trip. The kids were so thrilled to see goats, sheep, newborn peeps, chickens and a peacock. Of course, I took a ton of photos that day.

For the layout, my solution was to create a collage to showcase a number of those photos. The outdoor themed Chipboard Embellishments from the Twig line were perfect accents to the page. I added a Twig Canvas Border Sticker at the bottom with flower and leaves from the Twig Fabric Favorites.  Machine stitching at the top and bottom of the page were my finishing touch!

"Girl Scout Dance"

A few weeks ago, my daughter and husband attended the local Girl Scout Father/Daughter Square Dance. This is the 3rd year that they've attended and they always have a great time. This year, our preparations included a new glittery outfit and a visit to the hairdresser for a cut and braided hairdo.

For the layout, I used the Twig Decorative Edge Cardstock and the Wordy paper as the background layer. I added a 6x6 Decorative edge music note paper, Twig clear border sticker, Twig Journaling cards, and several chipboard and button dot flowers from the Twig line. To accentuate the shape of the decorative edge cardstock, I added machine stitching along the edges of the design.
