Scrapbooking With Echo Park - Be Mine Collection 6 comments

Valentine's Day.

Right before CHA every year, the Valentine's Day lines come out, and I DREAD them.  Really.  There is not one person in this world that dislikes pink more than me, and I try to avoid theme scrapbooking as much as I can.  However, I was mildly intrigued by Echo Park Paper's Be Mine line - not too pink, not too lovey dovey, and it seemed more versatile than a lot of the Valentine lines that i have seen in the past.

I was soooo right.

From the minute that I opened this paper pack, I was in love.  This is not PINK in the Valentine sense of pink.  It is PINK in the true beauty of pink.  When matched with the blacks and grays, it is the perfect line.  Perfect line.  NOT perfect VALENTINE line - just a perfect line.

Echo Park Paper is amazing.  The quality is incredible, the patterns and colors are complimentary, and for a scrapbooker like me, that is important.  They are two sided papers with an added solid that can be purchased separately (swoon.  I think I loved these MORE!)

First of all, I did an impromptu photo shoot with Kiley and the other girls the night of her concert.  The pictures were a perfect match for these papers.

The first layout is a simple blocked layout, but because the papers matched so well, it was so easily put together.  The focus is on the photo, and that is the way I like to scrapbook.

My next layout totally went away from any kind of Valentine feel.  It is my son playing hockey.  I stressed the grays and the blacks of the line and came up with a very simple, yet masculine layout that a 14 year old would be proud of!

Here is another layout using the feminine aspects of the line.  The sticker sheet has incredible embellishments and this layout came together very quickly.

My last layout is of all my girls and shows their love and support for each other.  I added a little Maya Road and Jenni Bowlin, two of my other favorite companies, that matched PERFECTLY to create a layout that I adore.

In conclusion, (and it is a mantra you hear often here) PLEASE don't look at a line as a THEME.  There are so many possibilities in each and every line to think "out of the box".  Not one of my layouts is "valentine", but is a line that would make an incredible LOVE line and sooo much more!!
