This year, my kids couldn't wait for Father's Day! They both made beautiful handmade gifts, cards, and even gift bags at school this year. We hid their goodies away for a least a week before and of course my 5 year old asked every day if he could give them to daddy! It is no surprise that I absolutely LOVE when my kids make homemade crafts. No matter how hard I try, those treasures don't seem to last very long even though we try to save all of them. I always take photos so we'll be able to remember their projects throughout the years. In this layout, I used two 4"x6" photos stacked on the right side of the layout and two 2.75"x4" photos angled on the left side of the layout. I used the MVP Paper as the base of the layout and then used the Big Guy Paper, Top Pop Paper, LFLF Strips Paper, and LFLS Cards Paper to cut up additional embellishments for the layout.
This is a layout using one of my favorite photos of my hubby taken a couple years ago. Although the bike belongs to a good friend and isn't ours, I still loved watching my husband ride! The Rock Star paper is definitely my favorite out of the Like Father LIke Son paper line! I had fun adding more embellishment to the existing design in the paper. I started embellishing using Platinum stickles throughout the stars and let that dry overnight. Next, I added a strip of paper from the LFLF Strips Paper across the center of the layout. I created a mat behind the 4"x6" photo using the Big Guy Paper. I added the Rock Star title from the LFLS Cards paper and added some stickers from the Pink Paislee Starlight Sticker sheet. The swirl below Rock Star is from the Artisan Swirls by Pink Paislee. To finish off the layout, I pulled a few older embellishments from my stash: Cherry Arte Poolside and Moroccan chipboard and Creative Imaginations Gala Icon Epoxy Stickers.
When I first saw the Like Father Like Son paper line, I fell in love with the quote, " A Father is his daughters first love and his sons first hero". Since I have both a boy and a girl, this quote was perfect for me to use on a layout. On Father's Day, we ended our morning with a photo of the three of them together which is what I used for this layout! For the base of the layout, I used the Champion Paper and then cut up the Top Pop Paper to create a border of circles around the photo and quote. The additional embellishments were cut from the LFLS Cards Paper and stickers were used from the Like Father Like Son Element Sticker sheet. I used dark brown ink on all of the embellishments and stickers to help them stand out from the busy background.
I created two cards using some left over scraps of patterned paper, element stickers, scallop edge punch, and pearls.
