Scrapbooking With Lily Bee Lovely 11 comments
Posted by 4peasinourpod My children range in age from 7 to 13. In school, that is close. In scrapbooking, that is soooo far apart. I have a little girl, an older girl, a pre-teen girl and a teenage boy. A lot of scrapbooking lines gear to one of those age groups...few can be used for all of them. Even when I first looked at lines to pick for this reveal, I passed over the Lily Bee Lovely. I haven't scrapbooked my son much lately, and really wanted to focus on him, as he heads off to high school. Just the NAME sounded girly. As I looked closer, though, I saw all the potential! These papers are GORGEOUS in person. The colors are rich and the patterns are complimentary. I took FULL advantage of the ACOT feature of matching cardstock, as well. If you have never seen this, it is a LIFESAVER. There is a tab by most of the patterned paper and embellishments labelled "cardstock" and it lets you add coordinating cardstock to your cart. Every time I order, I say a hallelujah for the person that thought of that! My layouts this time are: Homemade Spa Treatment: I know you have seen this picture before, but I had to scrap it for Delaney's album. My little girls made up their own "scrub" using brown sugar and milk. The colors in the Lily Bee Lovely line were PERFECT for this photograph. I adore the diecuts that come with this line. I am definitely ordering more of them! The buttons on the layout are actually from the chipboard stickers. I LOVE those chipboard stickers! She is So Lovely The next layout is of my middle daughter, Kiley. I took the definition rubon and split it into journaling strips. I love how it looks! I also took the chipboard and layered it to make the flowers have more dimension. Loving the Arizona Sun Although the line has brown as a neutral color, there are a lot of blues and oranges...so I used those colors as a base for the sunshiney feel to the next layout of Delaney. I found a picture of her during last years vacation to Brewers Spring Training in Arizona (my poor kids have to be subjected to my passion for baseball!) This layout shows a totally different feel that this line can offer. You are my reason The last layout shows the way that the line can be used for a teenage boy. The brown houndstooth and the fleur de lis print are masculine enough for any man. I brought out the teal with the rubon, and accented it with a Bazzill key sprayed with Maya Mist (thank you SOOO much SarahA!). I also added an older Heidi Swapp clockface to signify that my love for him is timeless.
In conclusion, this new company ranks HIGH on my list of must haves. I always love versatility in a line, and this one exceeded all my expectations. The embellishments and papers are high quality, and ACOT does an amazing job with color matching Bazzill. I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us at CHA in Chicago this July!
