Spotlight on Jeanne Marie's Scraps 2 comments

our March Featured Digital Designer

Posted by MamaK321

We are pleased to be featuring Jeanne Marie's Scraps this month! Many of us remember her when she was simply Jeanne from our online community, long before she joined our Digital Shoppe as a designer. This month is extra special for her because she is also celebrating her birthday this month! Jeanne has created a special kit for this occasion, be sure to check out her shoppe.

I was able to sit down with Jeanne and ask her some serious designing questions and then some not-so-serious personal questions. I hope you enjoy her interview and the Creative Team's reveal layouts using Jeanne's wonderful products.

1. How long have you been digitally designing?

I have designing for about a year now but I have only been selling my designs for about 7 months

2. How did you get your start in designing?

I started with a couple of freebies and progressed to full kits, and then of course Kami from Kreations by Kami I was on ct for a while and she encouraged me to try my hand at designing, she is just the best, and Julie Mead she really helped me learn the do's and don'ts of designing

3. From what/where/who do you draw your inspiration?

I get my inspiration from just about anywhere but my fav is when I get inspiration from The cherries here at acot! My Cheer Sassy kits where insipired by gypsymonkey and her request for a blue cheer kit to scrap her daughters cheerleading pics with, or nun69's request for templates that would hold 7 pics resulted in my 7's templates, or my Stroke of Midnight kit was inspired by a recent contest here at acot for black and white layouts!

4. Are there any upcoming kits brewing - any hints?

Oh yes, I will be brining you the moon and stars with a kit perfect for scrapping all those sleepy time photos, look for it on the 22 of March.

5. What are your goals as a designer this year?

I have a list of ideas for kits I would love to complete but it seems that for every kit I complete I add 5 more to the list so I guess it is to keep my list going so I always have fresh new kits.

6. What is your favorite thing to create (alphas, papers, etc)?

Journal blocks. It started with the one in my Blueberry Delights kit I just loved how that one turned out so I had create more journaling blocks which resulted in my new "Just for Journaling" collection I made 35 journaling spots for that one and had to force my self to stop. I also love creating new glitter styles, I mean really who doesn't like playing with glitter and digi glitter is the best! I can sit right beside dh on the couch and glitter things until my hearts content and when I am though there isn't a speck of glitter on him! (I say this because once apon a time when I paper scrapped long ago dh may have went to work with pink glitter in his hair)

And just for fun we asked her:

1. What is your favorite layout you have created, and why?

Shew, it is hard to choose just one but It would have to be MY HERO, The pic in that layout is very old and the frame around the pic is the actual pic it's self every worn edge or slight crease or stain is orginial to the picture

2. When you are not hanging out on ACOT's message board, what are you most likely doing?

Mostly designing or running after teenagers.

3. What is your favorite flavor of cake? And if you dislike cake, why and what do you prefer?

Red velvet cake with cream cheese icing stacked please, when it is just in the pan and not layered it isn't real red velvet to me.

4. What color do you feel like right at this moment?

A very soft baby blue, I can hear my bed calling my name tonight. lol
