Un-Framed! 5 comments
The Digi CT demonstrates ways to put the focus on photos without using frames.Posted by Mommybruno Frames. We love to use them, and I know I personally have scores of them in files on my computer. Cluster frames, round frames, vintage frames...I love frames! And using frames is an easy way to ground your photos. But not the only way! This week the Digi Creative Team worked on layouts that featured frame-less photos! So take a look and get some ideas on other ways to feature you photos! Gimme Treats, by Laura (Art_Teacher): Laura says, "A frame anchors the photo to the page. Without a frame, a cluster of elements or a photo corner (or both) can do the job!"
Losing My Co-Pilot, by Cassandra (mommybruno): Cassandra says, "Our CT Reveal for this week was to scrap without using frames - hard for me! I love me some frames! But I was still able to ground the photo by creating a file folder to clip it to."
Baby...Coming Soon, by Amanda (mkcdaisy): Amanda cleverly gave her photo a shape, which draws the eye, and anchored it with some ribbon.
Simple Moments, by Angie (nun69): Angie anchored her photo by stretching it from one side of the layout to the other, making it large enough to stand on its own. The elements layered over it help act as an anchor as well.
Beautiful Princess, by Glenda (bamablue): Glenda says, "I hope that you can see the texture in the photo - I used Christine Haskell's Instant Art Fold 'Em's, which makes it look like the photo was printed on a piece of linen and then folded. They're really easy to use!" The ribbon element also helps to act as an anchor.
Back 2 School, by Janell (janello): Janell says, "This week we decided to go Frameless with our CT reveal. It's really not as hard as you think. All that is needed is a way to anchor your picture to the layout so it doesn't look like it is floating. I used my title and some fun elements to in a way "frame" my picture."
Mommy & Me, by Tracy (ICanHasCherryOnTop): Tracy has anchored her photo with a backwards brad, and with her placement of the photo on top of the paper strips.
Destination, by Kristianne (MamaK321): To help ground her photo, Kristianne added some stitching to the edges, and placed it on top of some paper strips.
Taking Care of Eddie, by Egle (FairyMouseMom): Egle says, "This layout is for ACOT's Digital Creative Team Reveal - frameless photos. I have to admit that this was a bit difficult for me, as I love to matte my photos. But, I love the effect of this by using the template that I did." Notice how the flower helps to anchor the focal photo!
Believe in 17, by Guest CT Jeanne Marie (scrapprincess18): Jeanne Marie used blending to make her photo more of a page element, as well as stretching it to fit the page top to bottom. The elements layered over the photo further help to anchor it to the page.
The following items from the ACOT Digi Shoppe were used in the creation of these layouts: Posted by Mommybruno Reader Comments ... 9/7/08 4:31 pm
