Meet June Guest Designer - Art_Teacher! 2 comments

Posted by Art_Teacher

Hi, all!  I am thrilled to be ACOT's June, 2013 Guest Designer.  I have been scrapping for 15 years and digitally scrapping for 7.  I was a former member of ACOT's Digi CT for 4 years, and I am currently a CT for HotFlashDesigns, Silvia Romeo, and  I have learned so much being a member of ACOT's message board since 2003!  This has been my scrappy home on the web since I came here and found friends I will never forget.  This place inspires me and makes me want to scrap (and shop!)  Even though I do mostly digi on the board, I still paper scrap and I never plan to give that up.  I just don't always upload my paper layouts.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 23 years this July.  We do not have any children, but we do have one spoiled Golden Doodle named Paisley.  If you look through my gallery, you will see many layouts with her as the featured subject. :)  I have been a high school art teacher for 20 years, and I love it when I can get my students interested in scrapbooking, too.

Other hobbies of mine include creating ceramic pottery, playing my flute in our town's summer band, singing in our church's contemporary choir, and co-directing our high school musicals.  I also love to read and paint and watch movies.  I just wish I had more hours in the day!  As you can see from my photo, I also love to cheer on my beloved OSU Buckeyes in football and basketball.

Digi Designs for Daily Life 9 comments

Posted by Art_Teacher

New in the Digi Shoppe!

With the holidays over, many of us have returned to scrapping life's daily moments.  Our ACOT designers have event-specific kits, but they also have many versatile daily kits and even the kits centered around holidays can be used to scrapbook those special times we want to remember, whether or not they occur on a holiday.

Showered With Love by Art_Teacher/Laura

Laura tells us, "For this layout of my gorgeous cousin's wedding shower, I chose Silvia Romeo's "Embroidered Dreams" kit. It is the perfect romantic kit for this event, and the colors blend beautifully! I had so many photos, I just had to make it a 2-pager!"

The Best Day Ever by Smiley-Scrap8/Ronny

Ronny also created a two-page layout, saying, "This is my little man's big day. It was such a fantastic party, I really wanted a great kit so show it off. Something fun, colorful and perfect for a boy. I found everything I wanted in this new kit from Crisdam Designs, it's called "{LIFE} In Pictures The Story Begins". Now while this is neither a birthday kit or a boy kit it is an amazing kit for every part of life!"

December 24th by Art_Teacher/Laura

Although this is a Christmas kit, it is a very subtle and sophisticated one that can be used for a calmer feel and Laura found it perfect for scrapping a special Christmas Eve tradition.  She explains, "I chose Tallula Moon's "Countdown to Christmas" kit for all it's gorgeous, detailed elements. It set the perfect mood for one of my favorite Christmas traditions."

Reading Challenge by Smiley-Scrap8/Ronny

Ronny chronicles a special challenge in her daughter's life with the perfect kit.  She says, "This is my dd reading before bed. It hasn't always been easy for her but she works so hard. When I saw the new kit "A Good Read" by Sweet Digi Scraps I had to make a page about her challenges. The papers and elements in the is kit really helped me capture the emotions and put everything down."  Isn't her journaling wonderful?!

New Cousin by Digi Guest txbelle26/Jeanne

Jeanne selected SAS Designs' new kit, "My Love" for her adorable layout.  She describes it to us, saying, "This is my youngest DS and the newest member to my husbands side of the family,Jenna, his cousin. He was all about holding her and sat there with her for almost an hour!"

We hope you have enjoyed the layouts and kits presented here.  Don't forget to stop by the gallery and leave some love, as well as visiting the shoppe to stock up on these gorgeous kits!

Each week the Digi CT try to show you the latest and greatest in the shoppe.  This week is no different.  Here are some of the new and wonderful designs from our awesome ACOT designers.

Week 52 Part 2 by nun69/Angie

Angie says, "I FINALLY finished up my last LO of my P365 project for 2011. What better way to finish it out than combining Bella Gypsy's "Picture Perfect" & "Make It To Midnight" Kits. They were absolutely PERFECT to round off this project!"

Check here for other layouts in Angie's gallery.

Many Faces by Art_Teacher/Laura

Laura tells us, "For this reveal I just had to choose Sweet Digi Scraps' "Furbaby" kit! I love the color scheme. It is perfect for my blonde baby! Also, it is a versatile kit for both dog and cat lovers.

Alpine Adventure by Art_Teacher/Laura

Laura explains, "For this photo of our trip to Europe, I wanted an elegant kit that wouldn't overwhelm the photo. I chose jusme digital's "Almost There" kit and I think it works perfectly! I also used the "Almost There Splats," "Almost There Stacked Flowers" and "Almost There Embossed Papers." This is one of the most beautiful kits and could be used so many ways! Plus all of these are available in a Mega Bundle!"

Check here for other layouts in Laura's gallery.

His Fave at 5 by Smiley-Scrap8/Ronny

Ronny says, "My ds and the family enjoying Monster Jam for his birthday. When I saw the new "Geared Up" kit by SAS Designs I was excited to use it for this page. This photo even though it included my dd really needed something rough, something all boy. I'm excited how this turned out and I'm sure my ds will love it too."

Check here for other layouts in Ronny's gallery.

Christmas 2011 by Lindsay/Digi Guest

Lindsey exclaims, "I'm slow on scrapping the holidays, but when I saw these papers I had to use this kit - so pretty, the distressed papers are gorgeous!" She used Tallula Moon Designs' "Christmas Past 2011" kit.

Check here for other layouts in Lindsay's gallery.

If any of these layouts inspire you, don't forget to check out the gorgeous kits in the shoppe and stop by the gallery to leave some love!
