ACOT's excited to be working with Dani Mogstad this month. Not only is she a very talented scrapper and serves on our Creative Team, but she's a wonderful designer as well. This month she's created an exclusive kit just for us, Old School! Don't miss out on this great kit (20% off this weekend only) and the super fun "Old School Mini Album" also available at A Cherry on Top!
Upcoming Event: Come chat with Dani on Wednesday, Sept. 6th at 9:00 EST Our Chat with Dani will be rescheduled for sometime later this month.
Hi, my name is Dani Mogstad and I was a die-hard paper scrapper and swore I would never even try digital, but last spring I decided to take the plunge. It was a wonderful fit for me since I used Photoshop both professionally and recreationally for years. It only took me a few layouts before I was hopelessly hooked, and the rest is history! I have been designing digital scrapbooking for little over a year now and I love it dearly! There is just something wonderfully rewarding about sitting down and creating something beautiful from an empty screen. I love to share my creations with others, and before I knew it, my dearly beloved hobby turned into a full-blown passion.
I am a SAHM mom to a fiery little red-headed girl. She is my joy and inspiration and I love being a mom. I love to scrapbook or design late at night when the whole house is quiet and I can put on my headphones, turn up the tunes, and scrap the night away! I love the entire world of scrapbooking, the artist it brings out in me, the wonderful community of intelligent, talented, and caring women, and the beautiful memories I am preserving for my daughter and future generations.

Monday, August 28, 2006Meet 4kfam (aka Krista)
Take a moment to meet the September GCT member - 4kfam! We are excited to have her on board this month!
Hi! I am so honored and excited at the same time to be chosen as the GCT member for the month of September here at A Cherry On Top! I live in a very rural part of Missouri so I absolutely love the technology of having online scrapping communities as a way to fellowship with others who are also passionate about scrapbooking! I found ACOT about 2 years ago while browsing the internet for scrappy supplies and have been purchasing almost all of my “necessities” right here since then. I made my first post to the message board in January of 2005, and I now consider it to be my home in the company of so many talented scrappers.
I have been married for 9+ years to my husband, Kurt and together we have two wonderful—often mischievous boys; Kyle age 7, and Kody who is 3. In November of 1996, I was involved in a bad vehicle accident and left in a wheel chair for nearly a year. During that time, my husband and I married and spent our first 3 years together in Hawaii. Almost instantly, I fell in love with photographing all of the gorgeous scenery while we were there. Since I was unable to take a job, I began scrapbooking as a way to pass the time while my husband was deployed for military duty and to preserve the beautiful pictures of the island. Our first born came about 6 months before we left Hawaii, so needless to say…I have been scrapbooking ever since.
Today, scrapping has become a way of life for me. I have tried my hand at 12x12 scrapping and I absolutely adore all of the great work I see in that size, but for me it is a major challenge…I can accomplish it when necessary, but I much prefer scrapping in 8.5 x 11. That is the size I originally started scrapping with and that is where I consider my comfort zone to be. I also love making mini albums of all types. While paper scrapping will always be my main form of creativity, I do enjoy dipping into digital. I especially enjoy finding ways to mix the digital elements into my paper pages and photos! I have had a few layouts published and I have been on the design team of Everlasting Keepsakes since January of this year. For the past year and a half, I have been working strictly as a free lance artist-- teaching classes at my LSS and private parties; and I also make custom albums, scrapbook pages, and altered items for clients. My husband is not too happy about having paid out the bucks for my education in Criminal Justice and Psychology for me to end up scrapbooking…but for now it works for me. I am able to stay home with my boys and enjoy the hobby I have come to love on a daily basis!
Okay…now that I have bored you all with the simple details of my entire life…
I look forward to learning more about each of you and working with my SUPER FANTASTIC IDOLS (aka- CT Members) here at ACOT!!!
