Our January GCT Member is bluejeans7 (aka Angela). Angela has been around the ACOT community for quite some time, and she has been a valuable presence on the message board and in the gallery. We are very excited to have her around in January and she'll be helping with the crop!

Please take a moment to welcome Angela to the ACOT family!

Hi everyone! My name is Angela Prieto and I am very excited to be working with ACOT's creative team for the month of January.

I have been married to my husband, Efrain for over 13 years and we have two beautiful children together. Marissa is 10 and Erik is 5. I am very lucky that I get to be a stay at home mom.

I have been scrapping on and off for over 6 years. The past two years I have become completely addicted to scrapbooking and I do something scrap-related everyday. I also love photography and I have a ton of phots of my kids to prove it.

I am currently on one design team. I had my first publication this summer in the Layout Blueprints idea book. I have also had several layouts in online ezines.

Welcome to the Creative Team for January!!!!

CT Spotlight Vol. 8 15 comments

Putting the Spotlight on Superior Layouts

Posted by ElsieB

Welcome to the CT Spotlight, a monthly feature in which the Creative Team will put the spotlight on superior layouts that have caught our eye in the gallery.  We'll show you the layouts, tell you who made them and why we love them.  The first CT member quoted is the one who chose the layout for the Spotlight.

Check out these amazing layouts!

"Gypsy Girl"
by Bernadettte

TRScrapper says:
"Bernadettte is a new poster in the ACOT gallery and her layouts have really caught my eye! Her photography and layouts are wonderful! I think I am partial to this one because I have a 'gypsy girl' of my own.  The colors are fantastic; rich and perfectly matched.  I love the mass of ribbon going down the side of the photo.  But I think my very favorite embellishment is that little stick girl charm hanging from the "p" in gypsy.  Adorable!"

LoveMyBella says:
"The layout as a whole is stunning, and I absolutely adore the photo!"

Lindsay says:
"Awesome use of little details, wonderful photography, love everything about this one!"

Lillpop says:
"Striking is the first word that comes to mind.  The elements are great!"

Scrapsakes says:
"I love the candid photo which captures her daughter's personality and the bright & fun color combination, as well as the embellishments which just bring it all together."

n7zuq says:
"This layout is stunning.  The photo, ribbon, and title all convey a gypsy feeling.  This is eye candy at its finest."

MamaK321 says:
"The lighting in the photo totally caught my eye and I like how the medley of ribbons and flowers play up the creative title."

hokiecanuk says:
"That is a great picture and there is just the right amount of accents on the page."

clairbug says:
"LOVE the photo...not to mention the ribbons!  WOWEE!  This girl has talent!"

Dianedi says:
"What a stunning photo and brilliant splashes of color throughout the layout.  Love the tip of the 'Y' in gypsy.  A perfect touch."

by Jana1022

Lillpop says:
"First of all, the picture, is gorgeous - how much sweeter can you get than this?  I love the mix of flowers and buttons and the simple title that ties everything together.  Awesome work!"

"The photo is darling.  I find myself wondering what secrets they are sharing.  The design pulls you in with the accents that enhance the photo without distracting."

MamaK321 says:
"I really like the buttons, flowers and rub-ons layered on the photo and the simple patterns with bright yellow make the photo pop off the page."

Dianedi says:
"Love the embellishments used on top of the photo.  Love the butterfly for a whimsical touch."

Dianedi says:
"Love the gorgeous photo with the blurred background and the beautiful pastel color choices for the layout."

clairbug says:
"Wow!  This is some awesome digi-scrappin'! My favorite part HAS to be the stitching!  That's just great!  And then the mixture of words…awesome!  Great job!"

"Questions, Questions and More Questions"
by suslvgeo

neboyle says:
"I love this layout by Suslvgeo.  The colors are so vivid, just like her son's imagination.  The transparency is perfect for this layout and really draws you to the journaling, which tells a great story of how inquisitive her 3 year old son is."

TRScrapper says:
"This is my new favorite layout by Sus.  The colors are fantastic and the layout design is perfect, but I think my favorite part is the wonderful picture of Cole and the way this layout reveals so much about who he is."

Lindsay says:
"Love how fun and playful this is, great use of color and love the detail on the curve!"

FairyMouseMom says:
"Love the bright colors Sus used on this.  Love the embellishing done around the curve!"

Janet says:
"What wonderful journaling and great selection of paper to go with the theme!"

Scrapsakes says:
"It's brilliant...the photo, embellishments, color, and journaling tie it all in together perfectly!"

n7zuq says:
"The colors of this layout are amazing and draw the eye in to the photo.  I love all the questions and question marks on the layout.  They add to the subject and pique the curiosity of the audience to discover the world through the eyes of this child."

MamaK321 says:
"The repetition and mixture of questions at the top is such a cool technique.  This is a great idea for a simple photo of outdoor play."

"Christmas Photo Shoot"
by Maria in CT

hwillard says:

"This is adorable! I love the angle of the page and how she used the entire photo shoot, highlighting the favorite with a simple distressed frame."

Lindsay says:
"Adorable shots, love how everything is on the diagonal!"

clairbug says:
"Awww...totally reminds me of my son's first Christmas photo shoot!  Love the diagonal lines of this layout!  So many great elements to take in!  Three cheers for Maria!"
