There are many of you ACOT fans that simply cannot wait for the monthly challenges to be posted at the beginning of every month (special thanks to Scrapgoo Jess who does that every month!), and many more make it a goal to complete as many of those challenges each month as possible - some of you have even said it's the challenges that keep you scrapping, even when times get tough or busy!
It certainly can take a lot of time to think up these challenges, write them out and create a sample layout to go along with it, and some of the challenges can be, well, rather challenging!
So how do you think our Digi gals can measure up to your challenge pros out there? Can we hack the challenges our teammates produce? Well, to put the team to the test, we challenged the Digi Team to try out some of the more recent challenges. I think you'll agree with me... they were definitely up to the CHALLENGE!
"The digi CT reveal this week is to feature some of our favorite monthly or crop challenges. I went with the sketch challenge cuz I love doing them! They're great inspiration and the one's that ACOT has been putting out have been amazing! (thanks Juliana!). The sketch I used was from the January 2010 challenges."
"One of my favorite challenges is the Ad Inspiration challenge. I am drawn to the graphic nature of advertising and I think it translates well into scrapping layouts. This layout was inspired by the December, 2009 Ad Inspiration Challenge."
"[Breathtaking View was created] for the Digital CT reveal highlighting some of the amazing monthly challenges privided by the entire ACOT CT. I chose the Supply List Challenge provided by Beth (subbed in by Pam for the month of February). I really like a challenge that tells me exactly what type of product to use and the hunt to find the perfect kit or combination of products to fit those requirements. A layout that I create while following a challenge, usually gives me a greater sense of accomplishment.
Feb Supply Challenge: use fabric, glitter, a heart
"Challenges are always inspiring, I love checking out the challenge galleries to see how each member interprets them differently. I chose to scrap the sketch challenge, I love sketches, they are great whenever you are in a bind or want a great composition that you don't have to think too hard to get. I love that this sketch was drawn up by one of our very own cherries."
"For this reveal we each chose a challenge from the monthly or crop challenges. I chose to do the Musical Inspiration Challenge by Kimandasmo to create a layout inspired by a song from my favorite musical. I'd have a hard time naming a favorite musical - I love far too many. But the song "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables has touched a cord with me lately because of the things we are facing with our son."
"This week the Digi CT Team challenge is to feature some of our favourite monthly challenges. I went with the November Colour Challenge ad I havent scrapped with those two colours together before, but I loved the outcome! Good for nature layouts, it went perfectly with this picture of our youngest son."
"This week's reveal is all about feeling the challenge. I chose to make a layout using the February Countdown Challenge by sarahwhithers.

Challenges are great because when you have so many choices it can very overwhelming. By limiting your choices to meet a challenge creative ideas show up that my not have crossed your mind before. Try it, you'll love it!"
"I used to LOVE challenges, and before I was on the CT, I would try to do all of them every month - that is until life got really busy... LOL! But, seriously, challenges can really get you thinking and help you 'scrap outside the box'. When I saw the February Photography challenge - take pictures of someone you love wearing their favourite hat - I just KNEW I had to create a page about my 7yro son, Tommy! The boy is MAD about HATS! Now, I didn't have to take any new photos, as, as you can see, I have tonnes of photos of him wearing different hats, and trust me, there were many more photos to choose from!"
Do you like challenges? Our new March challenges will be up in just a few days. Keep an eye out on the ACOT Home page, on the Message Board and in the Resources section!

The templates from Crafters Workshop are so much fun to use! Check out some of these project ideas:
Just place the Template directly over a layout and dab with any ink pad.
On this sample, the edge of the Template was used as a pattern; simply trace and cut around the edge for a unique look.
Use a Template as a pattern on your next cake! Just sprinkle on the powdered sugar.
Use your inks with a Template and paint directly on fabric.
Poke some holes!
.... then do some stitching
Be sure to secure the stitching on the back of your layout.

Charming...it's exactly what I was looking for when I looked for product to do this reveal! I've been spending a little extra time with all of my nieces lately so I have lots of cute photos to scrap. Making Memories has long been one of my favorite companies to use when scrapbooking with detail...they leave nothing to chance when it comes to beautiful papers, diecuts, journaling spots or embellishments. Every line they come out with is going to have more than you'll ever need to create perfect pages.
For my layout, I Wanna Put on My Dancin' Shoes, I started with the Pink Flutter Diecut. The beautiful edge on this cut is perfect for a flirty little girl page, and my nieces are definitely flirty little girls. When they found my party shoes, they couldn't wait to wear them for their dance party! Before I got started, I turned the diecut over on the Salt Bazzill, and misted around the outside of it with the Lemon Meringue Glimmer Mist. After cutting out the middle of the diecut (because you know I want to make that diecut work on more than one layout!) I misted the inside edge with the Starfish Glimmer Mist. I then stitched the framework down, and placed the rest of the elements, including some of the fun shapes from the Flutter Glitter Die Cuts. My favorite part of this layout are the Flutter Plastic Flowers...so fun to layer and add detail to my page!
On Family are the Flowers, I decided to use these products for a "big girl" layout. My nieces are a few of my best friends and I love this photo of us together! The yellow flowered photo mat comes from the journaling book and more diecuts abound on this one...they make perfect date spots, or sweet shapes for extra embellishments. The Prima Flower and Bling Swirl are the perfect complements to this page!
You knew you were going to see the center of that diecut used above, didn't you? Well, here it is in my Hold Tight layout. I lined the edge of the circle with the Kaiser Pearl strips and used more of those fun plastic flowers for my embellishments! The green photo mat is packaging from the Prima Bling...they've made it gorgeous so we don't have to throw it away!
On my Focus Baby layout, I wanted to share the funkier side of these products. The butterflies in the diecuts worked perfectly with Mackenzie's butterfly shirt, and the scalloped Diecut is a ton of fun when you cut it up to make a border out of it. How cute is that Flutter Glitter Bling frame? The frame was a little larger than my photo here, so I just matted the photo on white cardstock and placed the frame where I wanted it, then cut around the cardstock. I popped it off the page with a few strips of dimensional tape.
And my favorite layout of this bunch is this last one...I've Got Sunshine. The Umbrella Flutter Luster paper is so cute, and yet I really wanted those umbrellas to be over my photos of Mackenzie playing with my shades. So, I cut it up! Yeah, I have a tendency to do that! I turned the shimmer raindrop part of the paper into some fun clouds, added one of the journaling sheets under the photos and added a few of the diecuts. The diecuts in this package are so plentiful, that I used a few of them on all of these layouts and still have so many more left over! The stitching on this layout just adds to it's charm.
So check your photos! See what kind of cute girly photos, fun friend photos, Easter photos or bright springy photos you can find to play with these beautiful elements!
