You will need pop dots for this flower and pattern paper.
I started with hearts. You can use any size you like...I used aMartha Stewart punchto make mine.
You need 8 to make a flower....I have more than that because I made a few extra things......
The next step is to fold each heart in half.
then place a pop dot inside each folded heart.
Press them to close. Then cut a small piece of scrap paper to adhere your petals to. I always like to do this so that I have a free standing flower first. That way I can place it anywhere I want on my layout and move it around as needed. If you know exactly where you want your flower, you can adhere it directly to your page if you chose.
I use liquid adhesive at this point and place my first petal.
Then continue to adhere all the way around with the open edge facing the folded edge.
Your completed flower will look like this.
You can then use whatever embellishment you like as a flower center.
Here is my completed layout:
I used this same folded heart technique to made a half flower as an embellishment on the side of my title block. I also used the same hearts to make the butterfly embellishment.
I hope you have enjoyed this flower.
William Wordsworth once wrote: "My Heart leaps up when I behold a rainbow in the sky."
Oh how true it is! The child in all of us, as do the children all around us, love to stop and gaze and the wonder of colour in the sky, usually piercing through somber grey clouds. It brings a light into your heart and life and gives you a new hope for tomorrow.
This week, the ladies of the digital creative team worked hard to create layouts that demonstrated the beauty and awesomeness of the magnificent rainbow. Each of their pages brought a whole lot of joy and peace to my face as I looked at them, and I'm sure they will to you too!

"It was great working with these great colors. Many different ways to use them and they brighten up the layout so much."

"For the Digi CT Reveal this week, it's about rainbows! Or at least a variety of colours. The more colours you use, the brighter the page can be!"
Sand Art, by Smiley-Scrap8
"This week we are showing off rainbows, how to use many colors on one layout. This was fun, and not something I normally do. I tend to stick with just 3 colors and all of my elements and paper and even my photos have these colors in there somewhere. But for this I chose some pretty colorful paper and made the photos b&w. I think if I had kept the photos in colors they just would have popped as much off the colorful paper."

"Our reveal this week was about rainbows and I immediately thought of my wedding! LOL! Can you tell I was young and very unsophisticated? One of the things I love about this layout was how easy it was to do with Kim Hill's template (I would never have taken the time to 'cut' all those circles, but with the template it is an easy process), and how nice it was to use Marci's (HotFlashDesigns) pastel paper packs to achieve a unified look with all the patterned papers!"

"When you have a picture that is bright, but you're just not sure how to scrap, a rainbow of colours usually works! However, I prefer to use a neutral coloured background, instead of something really busy."
Rainbow of Happiness, by Janello
"Rainbows are so inspiring and you can't help but get excited when you see a real one in nature. I love to add that same excitement to my layouts by using all the colors in the rainbow. In this layout I used various ric-rac peices to incorporate the various rainbow colors, I think it adds a happy touch."

"it's all about rainbow colors this week and I LOVE the combo of the red, teal/blue and yellow!!!! This is Abby enjoying some watermelon!!!"
My First Tooth, by jjenni08
"There are so many ways to use color in a layout. You can mix and match papers from different kits, from the same kits, or whatever. You do not have to stick to one major color. Be adventurous and mix it up!"

"A rainbow of colors plays well with the funky theme of this layout!"

"How lucky I was to find that Julie Mead's papers worked great for these pictures of my daughter and her friend. I then added some embellishments from different designers that worked well with the rainbow colors of the paper and came up with this colorful layout."

We R Memory Keepers new line 72 and Sunny just screams Summertime! The colors remind me of sunsets on the beach, fresh mowed grass, vacations and swimming. Living in Florida I have tones of summer pics to scrap and this line is more than perfect. With paper names like Rainbow, Scattered Clouds, Forecast, and Flower Patch, how can you go wrong. When it comes to WRMK I love their glitter accents...the chipboard frames and the glitter lace are fabulous, but one of the things I love most about WRMK is their coordinating cardstock stacks. The texture of these papers is wonderful and fun and you have a guaranteed color match right at your finger tips.
When I saw this picture that my daughter took of me and my husband on our 17th wedding anniversary, I knew that this line was perfect for it. I really wanted the picture to be the main point of this layout, and I left a bit more "white space" than I normally do.
This next layout is a grouping of photos taken on the same night. My girls love to walk the beach and watch the sunset during the summer time.
Into A Flock of Seagulls
My dd just could not leave this group of seagulls sit quietly on the beach......she had to run right into them and watch them scatter and fly across the beach.
This is a shot I managed to get on accident...my dd was running right for me and I was trying to get my camera to focus but she got a little close before I got it right...but I love the end result. It really shows the true her.....carefree and always happy. The journaling reads....no matter where you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.
This is an older pic of my dd at the beach... I felt like it looked like she was embracing the summer with a happy hug.

I cannot thank ACOT enough for allowing me to work with this spectacular line of papers.
