August 2017 Foodie Challenge*WINNER*

Let's sway in the warm summer breezes and hula our way into island style feasting and have a Maui sized LUAU!!


Belly up to the table and use at least 3 of these prompts on your design.  If your layout has a tropical/beachy theme, you get a bonus!

Kalua Pig (Roasted Pig) - 
Use 2 dark roasted shades of brown
Fresh Pineapple - Use the pineapple's diamond pattern as an element or background
Poi (Taro Potato) - TEAR-o some paper
Lomi Lomi Salmon - Use a salmon shade of pink
Poke Ahi - Use an item that pokes a hole in the paper, like brads, staples, etc.
Haupia (Coconut Pudding) -Mimic the 'hairy' texture of a coconut with fiber, ribbon, fringe and more
Mai Tai - Tie on on! Add a bow or knot

Rules of our Kitchen:
1. Push yourself to make a design that's better than sliced bread!
2. Entries open to FRESH BAKED, BRAND NEW projects only - paper, digital, & card making.
3. May be blended with one other challenge that allows it.
4. Must pop out of the oven August 31, at 11:59 PM PST.
5. One lucky chef, chosen at random, will receive a $5 ACOT gift card.
6. Up to 3 entries may be poured in per month.
7. A RAK is awarded to a second chef if there are more than 15 entries during the month.

My beach theme includes:
Kalua Pig (Roasted Pig) - Use 2 dark roasted shades of brown
Fresh Pineapple - Use the pineapple's diamond pattern as an element or background
Lomi Lomi Salmon - Use a salmon shade of pink
Poke Ahi - Use an item that pokes a hole in the paper, like brads, staples, etc. (brad for the middle of flowers)

Wow!  I love the patterns,  nice way to make the pineapple diamond. The brad in the flower center is so fun! Bonus entry for you!

For the Foodie Challenge I used 6 of the 7 items.

Kalua Pig (Roasted Pig) - Use 2 dark roasted shades of brown-brown and mocha divine

Fresh Pineapple - Use the pineapple's diamond pattern as an element or background-made my own background

Poi (Taro Potato) - TEAR-o some paper-white cardstock on top and bottom of photos

Poke Ahi - Use an item that pokes a hole in the paper, like brads, staples, etc.-diaper pin brads

Haupia (Coconut Pudding) -Mimic the 'hairy' texture of a coconut with fiber, ribbon, fringe and more-burlap with the edges fringed under each photo

Mai Tai - Tie on on! Add a bow or knot-bow on left photo corner

Tammey this is simply stunning!  The browns really make this #adorbs baby pop and be the star. I lovelovelove the diamond pattern!!!!

This was a FUN challenge!  I drew inspiration from the diamond element & it kind of took off from there!  The three items I used from your menu are: fresh pineapple (I used a stencil & texture paste to incorporate the diamond pattern on the background paper), Poke Ahi (I used some brads where I would normally have used an enamel dot), and Mai Tai (I tied a bow in string on the tag at the bottom).  Also combining with the July/Aug Graphic Design challenge.
