September Washi Challenge w/winner!!!

Postby Charleneanne » Fri Sep 01, 2017 4:11 pm

For September we will make and use washi embellishments.  If you have naked chipboard and want to use that, it is ok.  But what I do/did is print pictures of my embellishments on construction or cardstock weight paper.  Make sure you have dark outlines on your pictures/items because not all washi is  as transparent.  Then just tape over your picture with your washi.  Not necessary to stay inthe lines as you will be cutting the item out and excesses will be cut off.   If taping an item all one color, just tape across the item top to bottom regardless of shape and then when all taped, just cut out and you have an embellishment.    BTW  you dont have to print them, you can stamp them too.
On this layout, the starfish, the pink shell, and the umbrella are all washi embellishments.

MUST HAVES
at least two embellishments made from washi tape in the manner described (more or less)

BONUS
Do a water themed layout or card for the bonus.  (swimming, rain, doing the dishes, washing the dog or car, etc.)

Due September 30  at 11:59p.m.
limit of 2 entries per person
combining ok when allowed by other challenge
must be new
layouts or cards
I will draw a random winner for a $5.00 GC

Wow, very cool, Charleneanne!  I never would have thought those embellies were washi!  Great layout example!

I think I did what you wanted.... I used Washi tape to color the shovel and the pail on this layout.

yes you did perfect.  And using washi tape to make the embellies gives your page a bit of texture I think.  Great layout.  Love the colors. (and of course the shovel and the pail).

Covered the photo corner, triangle patterned tag & title in washi.  Great way to use up some plain chipboard & washi.  http://www.acherryontop.com/gallery/239453
