Journaling: They have a pre-existing relationship. He's relied on her for years and years, like a close friend. So how could I possibly ask him to give her up? I know that it's more than that though. She is long and slender, and most importantly, she's bad for his health. He tries hard not to let me see him with her, but he doesn't exactly hide it either. He goes to her after we argue and when he returns he is coverd in her stench. I try my best to choke back tears at the smell and I will not kiss him while her ashy taste lingers on his lips. Though I try to overlook it, she is everywhere I turn. She is in the car with us, on vacations, in the kitchen, and our bedroom.
I know this is something he has to do on his own. I know she is HIS addiction, HIS vice. I know I should trust that he will quit when he is ready. But he is my true love and I don't take pleasure in knowing he is voluntarily poisoning himself with her. I don't like feeling second best to a cigarette.

The charm says "wish"

Beautifully and powerfully written. Well done. You need to show him, as if he doesn't know how you feel already.

WOW, just let me say that I am a smoker and that brought tears to my eyes. I can totally relate to everything in your journaling, and people who smoke sometimes forget that it doesnt just affect us but everyone who loves us. You have inspired me thank you for this WONDERFUL WORK!!

I have showed this to him. We have had many frank conversations about how I feel on this topic, so it was no surprise to him. I was very nervous when I showed him, but he actually smiled when he was finished reading and complimented me on the creative way I wrote about it. LoL! I was a bit disapointed with myself because it looks so basic, but the journaling is really what is important here. Thank you for all your wonderful comments. Reading them gives me the courage to push myself further when it comes to my scrapping.
