Maddie decorated dh's birthday cake this year, and other than the red heart outline, she decorated the entire cake herself. Naturally I took pics of the whole process, and wow I was amazed at what a great job she did! TFL.

Journaling reads: On Richard’s birthday I baked him a heart shaped chocolate cake with his favorite icing, and as I was about to decorate it Maddie asked if she could help. I had already outlined the heart with the red writing gel, so I gave her one of the other colors to use. She was having such a great time and being so creative that I gave her all the colors and let her decorate the whole cake herself. She was very particular about her design and where she put everything, including the sprinkles. She wrote “Papa’ with the gel, and then put the candles just where she wanted them. She did such a great job decorating it! And when Papa saw it he absolutely loved it!

CUTE! LOVE the "chocolate" background with the bright colors. The white journaling is perfect and I love these pics of Maddie. You tell by her expression that she had a BLAST!

To begin with you captured a special experience with your terrific series of photos. I especially like how you sized them--large enough to fill the composition and embellishments small in proportion scattered around as little accents, and what you wrote. The colors (brown BG paired with white and brights) and the narrow shiney round corner photo frames all work together and make the whole composition pop! You even found a font for the title that looks like icing squeezed out of a tube! How cool is that?!!! You're a pro and it shows! Will save this for future inspiration, for sure!
