Description

My list is the playlist we are putting together for my son's first MP3 player which he will receive for Christmas this year. As I look over the list, it reveals a lot about his personality and his life. I explain that in the journaling which is hidden on a pull-out card behind his picture. I had a lot of fun making this, especially the cute little snowman (I gave him his own MP3 player! Ha!).

Thanks for looking!

Materials:
All paper: Basic Grey (Fruitcake line)
Chipboard, letter stickers: Basic Grey
Rub-on stitches: Die Cuts With A View
Ink pads: Staz-On black and Rubber Stampede crimson
Pens: American Crafts Pigment Pro and Slickwriter
Stickles in Christmas Red
Misc fiber (red for snowman's scarf & black for MP3 wires)

Journaling (hidden):
This Christmas you will receive your very first MP3 player! Your own headphones…your own music! You are excited and so is Papi. I think he's having just as much fun as you are helping you choose the songs that will make up your first playlist. The songs you've chosen give an interesting portrait of who you are. There are songs that you have heard because you've been in the car with Papi (like "Play Something Country") or in my car with me (like all the Dixie Chicks songs). I've been singing "Godspeed" to you since you were about three years old. Some are songs you've heard on television (like the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme) or in the movies (like "Accidentally in Love" from Shrek). Some we've been playing for you since you were very little, like "Bad to the Bone!" Others you've discovered yourself in just the last few months, like "Our Country." You learned to dance to "Thriller" in first grade. Some songs are things you've heard very recently on Papi's IPod while choosing things to add to your playlist. These songs, like "C'mon Everybody," show your preference for a strong guitar intro. Your love of music and obvious inclinations for singing and dancing are something you come by honest. There are certainly many musically inclined members of your family tree. I love that you can hear a song just two or three times and already know the words (you got that from me). It is bound to be interesting to watch your playlist grow and change over the years. I hope you always find joy in music the way you have since you were a very little boy. Merry Christmas, Thomas! We love you!
